At best fair food, friendly staff
by fatelctrician at Citysearch
Way over use of poor tomatoes, the were in everything I eat.
Over use of iceberg lettuce too.
The cheap veggies were used as a filler and not to enhance the dish.
The chicken was poorly trimmed, it had connective tissue.
The homemade hot sauce tasted like Frank's Hot Sauce, processed not homemade taste.
The rice was interesting and the pitas hot.
The water glasses large.
NEW LOCATION!!
by Nazareth at Citysearch
This location (the original Nazareth from 1989) has changed. The restaurant is now located on the south side of 161, just east of Cleveland Avenue. Now Nazareth has more seating, an area for private parties and private parking! The phone number is still the same (614/899-1177) but the location is now 2700 Northland Plaza Drive, Columbus, OH 43231.
- Pros: room for parties and still the same great food!
A great hidden treasure
by jhg1 at Citysearch
The food here is authentic & outstanding. The staff is friendly & professional. The decor is a little theme-park ish, but you don't come here for the decor. You come for the delicious food!
- Pros: Delicious food, wonderful staff, child/family friendly, quick, takeout is available
- Cons: Not in the nicest neighborhood, but not so bad we felt unsafe
A friendly place to have good, quick food
by Strikefinder at Citysearch
This place has been a long time favorite of mine and me and my friends have been coming here for years, and it is among my favorite places in Columbus. It is important to note that the target market is not upscale diners, but rather folks looking to come for a quick lunch with good, cheap food and friendly service from a genuinely good set of people. Though there may be restaurants out there which cater to more sophisticated palattes (and I enjoy many such places, like Cafe Istanbul at Easton), Nazareth gives you the opportunity to sample a variety of Middle Eastern favorites for about a third the cost. It is to Middle Eastern food what Chipotle might be to Mexican--cheap, fast, and tasty, and, in my opinion, a lot more fun.
- Pros: Fastastic people, quick, well-priced food
- Cons: It's not an upscale restaurant; go elsewhere if you're looking for the Ali Baba equivilent of Cameron Mitchell restaurants
Wonderful food, incredible staff, a great time to be had.

I have frequented this place with friends and family since I was a child. All I can say is Amazing. The food is incredible. I usually get the Gyro Platter, the rotisserie beef is incredible. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is casual and fun. And you get a lot of food at very good prices. To top it all off, Hani the owner is hilarious! He makes the experience worth your time all by himself.
- Pros: Excellent food, wonderful staff, great atmosphere, one of a kind owner!
- Cons: There aren't many other places like it.
Long-time favorite
by TravlBuggd at Citysearch
My husband and I love Nazareth restaurant and order takeout every few weeks. Definitely one of our long-time favorites.
My favorites are chicken shwarma, Greek salad, vegetarian grape leaves, hummus, rice w/spices... I guess I love it all! Their house cucumber dressing is quite delicious and is great on the gyros, fries, salads, rice - plenty of ways to use it. If it's fresh, the baklava is also very good.
Everything is very reasonably priced, and the two of us can dine for about $10.
It's not a fancy restaurant - expect casual, friendly dining - and it can get a little busy on weekend evenings now that they've expanded (Dublin-Granville location). It's family-owned and run, from what I can tell, and yes, Hany is a sociable and funny guy. He loves his customers!
- Pros: Food is a great value; takeout available
- Cons: Can be busy weekend nights = slower service
I cannot fathom what these people saw that I didn't.

The menu is modest, which I appreciate, but it basically breaks down to sandwich, sandwich with fries, sandwich with salad, sandwich with extra meat, sandwich with extra meat and salad, etc. I ordered the platter in order to get a sampling. The food ranged from "eh" to "I wish I hadn't." The homous was alright, the "Greek salad" was iceberg lettuce with feta and tomatoes, and the chicken shawarma was decent chicken under a mountain of shredded iceberg and sauce ? drive through or cart vendor quality at best. I didn't order desert, though the pre-packaged pastries were tempting. The people were, as others have notes, extremely friendly. However, being that I go to a restaurant to eat, I won't be going back to Nazareth. (I wouldn't go again for free.)
- Pros: Dilligent and pleasant staff
- Cons: Everything else.
Great food, great service, great prices.
by msg41 at Citysearch
The atmosphere food, service, prices are all superb. Friendliest place in town. The owner and his wife are going to be your very newest best friends. Don't be surprised if Hany (the owner) shows up w/ a bat and asks how the food is. I know, sounds crazy, but it is all in the experience of dining at Nazareth. AND I heard they are opening another Nazareth restaurant in the very near future.
- Pros: Ambience, parking, service, atmosphere, fun.

Middle Eastern cuisine including kabobs and stuffed grape leaves are served at the colorful eatery.
Great honest food, low prices, friendly atmosphere...

This is the kind of place you go back to and recommend to others... the consistently good food, the affordable prices, the charming 'hole in the wall' feel and the family service all contribute to placing Nazareth on anyone's local favorites list.
