Best hair cut!!

I hadn't had my hair cut for several year. It was very long and had no style at all. My hair is curly and I didn't know where to go to get a good cut. I went to the web and found very good reviews for the Akada Salon. After reading about Mindy and her experience cutting curly hair, I decided to maker the appointment. Mindy is fantastic. She took the time to help me decide what hair style would work best for me. I went from very long hair to a style that falls just above my shoulder and I love it!! Mindy showed me how to maintain the style and suggested products that were best for my curly hair.

Incredible Experience!

I have been floating around town for years now trying to find someone who REALLY knew how to cut my hair. I have finally found her!! I chose Akada Hair Salon based on an internet search and just decided to take my chances...luck was in my favor. Christine took the time to look at my hair, my facial structure and my lifestyle to figure out what would work best for me. I LOVE MY HAIR! I have already recommended her to several friends and will continue to do so. I think there is a lot of talent at that salon so I do not think you could go wrong with any of their stylists.

Friendly atmosphere and a great haircut!

My experience at Akada was very positive. I was greeted by my stylist and offered something to drink. The atmosphere was very calming and relaxing. My stylist discussed the haircut with me, as I was going shorter. She was very knowledgeable in the technique and very professional. Mackenzie did an incredible job and I would highly recommend her. You won't be disappointed at Akada.

No complaints!

Visited Akada for the first time and was a little wary of trying out a new stylist. My thick, abundant, wavy hair was of no challenge to Mindi, who gave me an absolutely FABULOUS cut. Truly listening to everything that I said I was looking for in a cut, she snipped away and gave me a cut with which I don't have any complaints. She also gave me wonderful advice about recreating the style, and also about future cuts with my texture of hair. She was extremely knowledgeable, and I'm hard to impress. Needless to say, I was very impressed. The atmosphere of the salon was very warm and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly. No pressure to purchase products. Would recommend again, and I have another appointment to be colored :) After first visit, also received a thank you card in the mail and a $5 coupon off future services. Very pleased to find a local salon like this one, and it has upped the standard :)

Great service, fabulous cut!

I jut had my 1st haircut at Akada and it won't be my last! The service is great from the moment you set foot in the door (no matter how bummy you look or feel when you walk in). I was waited on promptly and offered a complementary drink (coffee, tea, water & i think pop). My stylist was not only friendly, she was truly willing to establish a rapport in order to get results we could both be satisfied with. And we did! It was really an experience we both enjoyed! And while she annotated the products she used, there was no pressure to buy. This may just my new hair place! Worth every penny! I went feeling like a bum and left feeling and looking like a STAR! Thanks Christine!!

Best cut & color in columbus

A few years ago, I started going to Akada hair salon and Christina started styling my hair. I had been to several other salons around columbus, and I only stopped searching once I found Christina at Akada. Every time I get my color done, she is creative and always has ideas for something new and different to try on my hair. I trust her completely, and know she will always make my hair look great. Additionally, the other stylists and receptionists at Akada are cheerful, friendly, and welcoming. Many of the clients there are "regulars" and have been going to Akada for years. I have recommended Christina at Akada hair salon to several of my closest friends, and each of them has been completely happy with their hair cut or color, as well as their experience at Akada. I would recommend Christina to anyone who is really picky about their hair and wants a great style. You will get a great hair style from Christina, and be fully happy with your overall experience at Akada!

Best Shampoo In Town

After living in Downtown Boston and regularly getting my hair styled at the James Joseph Salon, I was worried that the quality of my hair cutting experience would take a drastic turn for the worse when I arrived in Columbus. What I never expected was to walk into a salon on Grandview Avenue that would fit right in on Newbury Street in Boston. The receptionist at Akada was pleasant and offered me a drink while my stylist finished up with her previous patron. I was nervous to have my hair cut by someone new. As a male with a lot of cowlicks, I have been disappointed by a lot of stylists. Christine was not one of them. She gave me a great haircut. Additionally, her shampoo is the best I've ever had, her fingers are magic. I am a Massage Therapist and know good hands when I feel them. I would recommend Christine to anyone who wants a truly first class hair cutting experience.

Tammy has cut my hair for nearly 20 years now. I've had to drive all over town to stay with her. I found out the hard way, the few times I let someone else cut my hair. Guess where she works now? The people she works with are really good, too.

Take if from a hollywood stylist look no further for the best hair anywhere. What a discovery!!

I worked as a professional makeup and hair stylist in LA and NYC for 18 years before moving here with my husband. I am in the stylist union Hollywood, Local 706 so I know skill, cut and color done right when I see it. Akada knows how to do hair right.

Akada does hair not just leaving-the-salon good but grow-out great. On top of that their skill with color is about as good an anything I ever have ever seen as a working professional. I worked on huge films and with actresses everyone in the world knows. They demand the best and I can really not say enough how surprised I am that such a gem of a place is right here in Columbus. This team has the skill to work at the highest level and they are right here?! Amazing.

The other great thing about Akada is how nice it is to not have to deal with the pretentiousness a lot of salons have. Many times people mistake a snotty attitude for aptitude and reality is they are pretty much opposite. Akada has aptitude and a great attitude. This is saying something in a business where the criteria for ?good? are so subjective. Given my past career I can tell you there are some things that are not subjective that a professional eye can see in a second. Akada has those things covered and much more. I highly recommend.
