Amo Figlios (I love Figlios)
by Zim at Citysearch
My wife and I love Figlios. We've been dining there every since they first opened. The Danis run a truly first class operation with both of their restaurants. Our favorite, and the first restaurant in Columbus, is the Grandview Figlios. We enjoy the noisy ambiance and the friendly waitstaff. We also immensely enjoy the "newsletter" produced by the Danis that offers keen insight into their strong family values. These same values are applied in their restaurant operations.

- Pros: Excellent food value., Excellent wine value., Friendly servers.
One of the best places in Columbus - a gem!

My wife and I have been going for years. Pizzas are out of this world good and the ingredients are consistent and always delicious no matter what you get. Try and make your own!
All of their pastas are great too, Chicken Diablo is my fave which has a nice kick to it. A must try.
Small but cute - great wait staff as well. Value is amazing.
- Pros: Wood -fired pizzas, great pasta, wines, staff, cozy and cute atmosphere, value.
- Cons: none.
Do NOT recommend

The food is over-rated and there was an insect in my food. On the upside, I had a good server and the atmosphere is great. . . no comped meal for the big nasty insect in my pasta though.
Puts Spagio to shame.

The pizza (mushroom for me) is wonderful, dessert was outstanding. My husband had some delicious pasta. Service is a little on the slow side - but that is normal for Columbus on a Friday night. Reservations suggested! Having dined at Spagio (similar menu, also in Grandview) I was worried on my first trip to Figlio. Figlio did not disappoint, on a week night it is quiet and romantic. Not pretentious - so if you're looking for a place to be seen in or namedrop, go to Spagio.....if you're looking for good service and yummy food - a nice variety to choose from, and great salads and dessert - go to Figlio.
- Pros: Tasty pizzas, pasta and desserts - best wood-fired pizza around!
- Cons: Go on a weeknight, or make reservations!
Best pasta, hands down!

My husband and I were looking for a a quick bite to eat and stumbled into Figlio in Grandview. The restaurant was comfortable and welcoming. The wine list was well balanced and the menu had plenty to choose from. The pricing as reasonable considering the portions. Great experience!
- Pros: The food and drinks
- Cons: Parking
If you like pizza and pasta, it's where you want to be!

This is one of my favorite restaurants - you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The only serve pizza, pasta and salads, but their food could satisfy any eater (taste or appetite -wise). Their pizzas are unique and delicious, their pastas are some of the best I've ever had, and the salads are great as an appetizer or entree. This place is always crowded, and for good reason! They also have a patio on Grandview Ave and is perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends or family. There are many places to walk to before or after your meal. THey also have a room in the back for large parties.
- Pros: Friendly and knowlegable staff, Fantastic food, good value
- Cons: may get overcrowded at times

I've been to Figlio with my family, with my friends, and with my girlfriend and it's been a great experience every time. Everything I've ordered here has been excellent, and the atmosphere is great. It's not too elegant, but not too casual. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food served here. The pastas are excellent and the pizzas are great too.
Figlio - a Columbus must!

Great ambience and the food does not disappoint. The Blackened Shrimp is out of this world. Great wine selection and service. Fun to go as a couple or with a group. Ambience is fun upscale with a value priced menu. Recommend to all of my friends.
An elegant but casual eatery with a selective and delicious menu featuring wood-fired gourmet pizza.

The Menu
Other restaurants should take a lesson from Figlio that less is more. These pizza and pasta dining spots have simple menus with just a few carefully prepared offerings.
The Pie
Owner Peter Danis has taught cooking classes on how to make the perfect pizza dough. Toppings include kung pao shrimp, shredded barbecued chicken, caramelized onions and many imported cheeses. Diners are encouraged to design their own combos.
Hot Dish
The favorite pasta dish here is fresh linguine topped with chicken diablo sauce, creamy and spicy.
- Pros: gourmet pizza
