An offbeat shop for postmodern brides hip to a different era.

Open only on Saturday afternoons and by appointment, this unlikely High Street shop probably doesn't lure many passers-by, but that's okay with owner Catherine Conklin. A Brooklyn native, she's been running the store for years, and her store has been a destination for unique shoppers. Some even come from out of state in the hunt to find a one-of-a-kind wedding gown. Even if you're just browsing, Ms. Conklin will likely find a dress that looks stunning on you and force you to try it on. It's hard to resist.

The Goods
Although most of this store's inventory consists of antique wedding gowns, there's plenty of other vintage formalwear, dresses, and some party clothes to search through, all dating from the late 1800's on. If you're looking for a treasure, make this your first stop.
