I Actually Like My Hair Now
by LynnetteM at Citysearch
I survived the 80's (just barely) with big hair that wasn't TRYING to be big. So you can imagine how many bad haircuts I've had, and how many times I've left in tears because someone tried to blowdry my curls and I could see the horror on her face as my hair just got bigger and frizzier . . .
Then I met Amy. My hair "good twin" went first; I loved what Amy did for her hair, so I decided to take the plunge myself. After my first cut from Amy, I told her that I'd never smiled when leaving a hair salon before. Now I actually look forward to getting my hair cut, and I don't have to rush home and get in the shower to get all the disgusting product out of my hair.
She gives advice when asked on how to style my hair, what products to use, etc. And she's also ok when I think I know what I want - she'll style my hair, or not, depending on the day, my mood, etc. I love the cut and the color, and I think my hair is easier for me to style between visits as well. Amy is truly outstanding, and I can't recommend her enough!
- Pros: Great location, and it's easy to schedule day & time that works!
- Cons: None
Amy Bush @ Salon Lofts Best for Curls and color!
by Andrea Fannin at Citysearch
I hadn't been to a stylist in years and had just been cutting my own hair and coloring from a box because every stylist seemed to cringe seeing my curls coming. When I DID get my hair done professionally I always just decided to leave with wet hair because the stylist didn't have a diffuser or would just offer to "blow and brush it out" which, anyone with curly hair knows, you can't just blow and brush it out unless you want a huge fro! LOL :)
Anyway, I went to Amy the day before Thanksgiving and she did an AMAZING job!!! The color is so rich...and even without highlights, my hair color is multi-faceted going from rich hues of brown to ruby reds in the sunlight depending on how the light hits it.
When Amy cut it she really looked at how my hair was beginning to curl after the shampoo and cut with the curl to provide different lengths that would lay without giving me a "triangle head"! :) She took her time even though it was the night before a holiday. She s extremely enjoyable to talk to and it was a very comfortable atmosphere.
When I left my hair looked and smelled amazing! The Euphora products she uses are great and I made sure to get some on my way out because it made my hair smell SOOO good. I could even smell it in my sleep!
My husband LOVED my hair and he gave me that movie moment "LOOK" that Andrew McCarthy gave Molly Ringwald in "Pretty in Pink"! He was constantly touching my soft curls and smelling my hair and he declared "You are never allowed to cut your own hair again!" and "When are you making your next appointment with Amy?"
Amy was magnificent and I will definitely be going back!
Curly Hair Expert! And Local, Awesome.

I had my hair cut by Amy on Friday, and I can't tell you how excited I am to have someone of this caliber in Columbus. As anyone with curly hair knows,it isn't easy to find someone who "gets it", and Amy is that person. I travel quite a bit for work, and on my endless quest for just the right cut for my curly hair, I have tried stylists from Beverly Hills, Chicago, DC,etc., even Quidad in NY, and I can honestly say this cut is better, without the hype of a NY salon or the price of Beverly Hills. Amy took the time to listen, to explain her approach, and to discuss styling options. I was quite impressed with her as well as her direction for her new salon. After my appointment I went shopping, and a woman stopped me to ask about my hair (I was excited and felt like Amy really made a difference!) Of course, I told her about Amy. Curly hair is a club you know, but we share our secrets.
- Pros: great at listening to client concerns
OUTSTANDING Stylist for the Curly-Hair Divas!
by maryrose09 at Citysearch
I deliberately waited 3 weeks after getting my hair cut by Amy before posting a review. I wanted to see how the cut would fare after a few weeks growth. To say this cut passed with flying colors would be an understatement.
I simply haven't had a bad hair day since this cut. Not. One. Bad. Hair Day. Which is quite amazing to me since my curly hair has the mind of a ferret - running crazily from a frightful wig of frizz to other "looks" which usually ended up looking messy. (And not the hot "just-out-of-bed" messy the fashion magazines boast.)
Here's the scoop: before I went to Amy, I tried going to three different hairstylists this year, hoping they would give me a cut that was flattering and leveraged the curl. Nada. I often would gather my hair into a banana clip just to keep it out of my eyes. Amy told me she would give me a cut that offered options for styling. Boy, she wasn't kidding. I had a stylist from another big-name salon cut my hair and it looked great for the "curly" look, but sort of blah if I styled it straight.
The day after my cut, I washed my hair and did a blow-out, carefully watching how the hair fell after using a large round brush. It looked great! I almost couldn't believe it! I then used a curl activator product the next time I washed my hair and allowed it to dry naturally. Again, it looked great! Rock on, Amy!
I'm in my mid-forties and believe me, have had my share of good and bad stylists. Amy took the time to talk to me (and listen!) while determining what style would best flatter my features and lifestyle. She even added a little extra TLC by giving my hair a nourishing mask. I can't believe how much I love my hair right now! The cut is still just as versatile as it was three weeks ago. Amy's price is a bit more than a mid-level stylist at Kenneth's, but then again, you're getting someone who knows how to cut curly hair, inside and out. Amy, by the way, has a gorgeous mane of auburn curls, herself. She's a sweetheart and I'd highly recommend her to anyone who is exasperated with trying to find a decent stylist for curly hair. I believe you will be just as thrilled as I was to discover her. :-) Oh, and btw, I don't wear my banana clip as often.
- Pros: Highly professional, goes the extra mile in customer service
- Cons: None that I can see

My layers were growing out, my head felt heavy, and i couldnt manage my hair anymore so i tied my hair up everyday. I needed a hair cut real bad. The problem was I have a hard time finding a stylist because im so picky with my hair and the only person i trusted with my hair cut was someone down in Georgia. So i did some research online and came across Amy, She had such great reviews i had to give her a try. At first i wasnt sure whether its a good idea but after the cut, i couldnt be more pleased, happy and satisfied. She really did a great and awesome job. I love my hair ~!!!!!! and so does my bf... hes been complimenting the whole day... I would recommend Amy to all my friends and I would definitely come back to her again ~ because i think i just found myself the BEST Hair STYLIST !
P.S ~ Amy !! ~ thank you once again ~! I really love my hair !
- Pros: Iistens closely to everything you say...
- Cons: NONE !!!!!!!!!! (Shes just Awesome)

Amy knows what she is doing! She understands that you just can't cut curly hair the same way you cut straight hair. She understands what so many of us with curly hair have gone through and she works hard to make you feel comfortable. She will listen to everything you have to say and she will take the time to explain what she is doing and why. Amy goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are taken care of and are happy. I'm amazed at how great my curls can look with so little effort on my part.
Great!

I'm 43 and picky about my hair. Amy is among my very favorite hairdressers (only two others of my lifetime live up to her!). She gets hair- how it curls, how it moves, how it frames each face, how it dries. She cares and wants me to be happy. She totally listens and happily looks at photos to understands your wants and then helps you translate how the look will work with your face and hair. I love her space and the privacy and the ease of scheduling.
- Pros: Listens, understands, talented, patient
- Cons: none
Amy is the best!

Having your hair cut by Amy is a treat. My hair is wavy and only needs shampooing and combing if it is cut correctly. She listens to how you want your hair to look and proceeds accordingly . She is accomplished; she is professional; she is a delight! If you like a razor cut, Amy is the stylist for you. I have been looking for 5 years for someone who can cut curly/wavy hair. Today was my third hircut by Amy and I cannot recommend her highly enough .
The only one I trust

After getting a few bad haircuts, I found Amy and I'm staying! Amy understands my hair, the way it pulls up when it dries, the way layers sit, how to make it fuller without it being one round poof or looking like the triangle-head from Dilbert. I don't describe very well what I want, but she always knows what I mean and always does it well. Besides getting my best haircuts from Amy, she is a very nice and creative person, so she's fun to be around. Once you try, you'll see what I mean!
- Pros: Amy is starting a program to give your old products to those less fortunate, and, while she sells products, she doesn't push products
- Cons: For a student budget, the price may be a little high, but i find it's worth it every time.
Spectactular Service and Great Hair!

Amy is an amazing hair stylist. She does a phenomenal job with curly hair and knows how to deal with the craziness of my curls. I am always happy with my haircut and it looks great as it grows out as well. She also is a master of hair color and takes the time to help you figure out what hair color works best for you and your skin tone. She also does a great job with eyebrow waxing. If you need any of these services, Amy is the person to go to! You leave looking great and having had a great time chatting with Amy as well. I am most excited to be going back again!
Finally, A Haircut That's Me

I've been looking for someone that could give me a good cut and color and I found that talent in Amy. She is an artist taking into account her whole canvas. She's patient and listens and makes suggestions while considering my input as well. I have short wavy hair and she gave me a cut that feels like me. It's cute, fresh, hip and takes about 5 years off my age. I love the Italian herbal hair color line that she uses. It leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. It's also important to me tthat my hair designer be someone that I enjoy spending time with since I go every three weeks. Amy is warm and nurturing and pleasant to chat with. Thanks Amy!
