Highly Disappointed. My family and I dined at Salvi's for mother's day and we were greatly disappointed. My mother used to be GM of the Hilliard Salvi's and kept it running smoothly and cleanly for that matter. We expected the Dublin establishment to be of the same standard. It was not. The food was good, but food is only half the battle. The building was hard to find to begin with. Upon entering, we were greeted by the manager who wore a camouflage miniskirt with a matching sweat jacket. A fashion issue in the least, but certainly not acceptable attire for a manager. The restrooms were unusually dirty, possibly because of the mother's day rush, but nonetheless. Food wasn't bad, a little chilled, but not bad. But after we received our check, the busser came out in an Ohio State hat and jeans. Long story short, we were greatly disappointed. Presentation is key.

Heavy sauce and cheese. The good things. . . the atmosphere is pleasant and the menu has many selections I reviewed the menu in advance on-line and I was tempted by the many choices. There aren't many restaurants in the area that serve escargot so I was anxious to order that. Huge disappointment! Escargot was drowned in sauce. To be fair, the menu says the escargot is served with sauce, but the escargot was swimming in a soup of sauce. I also ordered the bruschetta. It was covered by a heavy coating of cheese -- underneath all that cheese the bruschetta was good. The wedding soup was okay, but was served cold. The waiter cheerfully had the soup re-heated. In general, the restaurant serves food with heavy sauces and cheeses. I was really grossed out by the heaviness of the food. All in all, a huge disappointment..

Salvi's Dublin Opening October 2010. Salvi's Bistro Dublin location is not yet open. The four reviews listed on this site are for the previous restaurant at this address, which was Stoney River. Please come and enjoy Salvi's Bistro when we open which should be the end of October, 2010.

DELICIOUS DINING!. This restaurant is delightful! I have been numerous times and every time it gets better! The decor is very "cozy cabin" with all leather, wood and stone and the lighting is beautifully romantic! The service staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and very prompt. We arrived early for our "preferred seating" and only had about a ten minute wait! (Which was amazing considering the whole place was packed!) The wine list is phenomenal and priced accordingly. Our food was on time and perfect every time! (I would highly suggest the medallions oscar (normal) with béarnaise!) If you go be sure to bring your appetite as the side dishes here are generously portioned! Not only do they have the best steaks in Dublin, but the seafood is great too! They even serve vegetarian dishes if requested! HOW AMAZING! I will continue to go back!

Could have been a winner with better steaks!. If you are running a steak house, that is the food that must shine. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. When I ordered my steak, I asked if they were prime cuts, and nobody could answer. They then sent out the Maitre d, who didnt even know the difference between select, choice, and prime cuts...EVEN AFTER GOING TO THE KITCHEN! The best non relevant answer I ever got, was that they were "USDA" steaks...duh!

I ordered my ribeye medium, and it cam bloody dripping rare, and had to send it back. My wife ordered her petite filet medium rare, and it came medium well...she just ate hers. I would guess these steaks to be of select grade at best...certainly not the prime price they were charging.

The wait service was great. There was always somebody "hovering" nearby to attend to refills and other needs, however, this restaurant is very, very dark. I dont like eating food that I can barley see.

The wine list was very large and versatile. I enjoyed a very nice French dry red, for $8...not too bad.

I might go back sometime to try something different, but its certainly not on my "must go again" list...especially at a $80 dinner for two.

Great waiter, Okay food, wait not worth the evening. My wife and I tried Stoney River for a special ocasion after a couple recommendations from coworkers. Reservations are non-existent and by calling ahead you only receive "preferred seating" at a 30 minute wait.

The location was nice and easy to get to just off Rt 33 and I-270 with adequate parking.

Unless there are less than 10 people waiting for seating [preferred or not], you are left either standing outside, in the bar, or obstructing the isles and interrupting waiter flow [need a larger waiting area].

With preferred seating, plan on waiting more than 30 minutes.

Atmosphere was loud and the womens restroom was out of order [had to use the kitchen employee restrooms].

Waiter attendance and promptness was excellent .

Two Coffee Fillets [house specialty] one well and the other medium were ordered and delivered in satifactory time. The well done fillet was good. The medium done fillet was less than satisfactory [borderline editable]. The side dishes delivered were luke warm at best and each were of size for a party of four.

Given the rave Stoney River was referred, I could easily recommend several other restaurants in the Columbus area in which to dine with the same access, less wait time, better atmosphere, and quality meals [at equal or less cost].

Dining Rating: 4 [Stoney River Overrated for our dining experience].

Return Rating: 0 [No].

Outstanding Food and Service to Boot. My first two visits to this restaurant have been nothing short of outstanding. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the welcoming nature of all the staff and a meal that was outstanding. The strip was as good as I have ever had and the Chocolate Cake is amazing. This is my new favorite restaurant in Dublin...and everywhere else they have a location.
