Amid a Sea of Chain Restaurants

If you are familiar with the Polaris area of Columbus you probably know what you are getting into. It is densly populated by chain restaurants like TGI Friday's, Applebee's, Olive Garden and of course Red Lobster. As such, the atmosphere, food, price and service are all exactly what you would expect, which is exactly what they hope. Decent food, and even some food that non seafood eaters will enjoy. One complaint is the beer selection is awful. Why do the menus say "local favorite" when they don't have any?
- Pros: Safe ground, Good food
- Cons: Poor beer selection, Not unique
Casual crustacean-inspired chain serves up diet-defying seafood dishes in a family-friendly environment.

In Short
Live lobsters wriggle in a tank inside this seafood emporium, where nautical-patterned booths and colorful, fish-shaped tables in the bar area add subdued touches of whimsy to the room's classy dark wood accents. The menu can be downright decadent, with starters of artichoke lobster dip, seafood fondue, and crab-stuffed mushrooms. Entrees feature lighter, grilled fare like mahi-mahi and North Atlantic sea scallops, along with signature lobster dishes, snow crab legs, and jumbo fried shrimp platters.

The benefit of chain restaurants is that you know what to expect when you dine - or at least you hope so. With the Red Lobster on Polaris Parkway, you're likely to have a different experience each time. The food is usually good but we do a fair amount of take-out and we have yet to bring home an order that's 100 percent right. We also make it home with hot food only about 50 percent of the time. Most of our restaurant dining experiences have been slow but the food was usually hot and tasted good. Recommended only for risk takers! ;-)
PROS: Generally good food that's reasonably priced.
CONS: Can't get a take-out order right to save their lives.
