I had a "friend's" coupon for a facial wax. I broke out very badly but day after day for the past 5 days it has gotten WORSE. I have no less than 50 pimples on the lower half of my face -- chin, jawline, cheeks, lip. I called to see what to do about it and I got some lame-o advice and a "now, if you need anything else call us." I need my skin cleared and my money back! I've been to spas from British Columbia to Beverly Hills to Chicago and have NEVER experienced a breakout so bad nor such apathy from the salon. I went to J Nicoles when they opened 8 years ago. Now I know why I never went back. Save your money. There are plenty of other places around.

I have to start off by letting the previous critic know that polish is dried faster when oil is applied. Although i can take into consideration that you probably weren't aware of the benefits and simply ended up damaging them yourself. I've recieved several manicures ( ..with numerous technicians) from J.Nicole's and have never encountered this problem. However, if the issue were to present itself, I'm confident the staff at J.Nicole's would be more than glad to help. This goes to show.. you just can't please some people.
Pros: services are catered to your specific needs.
Cons: booking an appt. they're usually so busy!

I love body treatments and pampering, and booked a spa day here with a girlfriend. She'd been here once and had a good facial, while I had never been before, but it sounded cute (it's in a converted house - which sounds FAR more charming than it really is). It was terrible. I had a hot stone massage and a wash and blowout after treatment that were mediocre at best, but the truly awful part was the manicure. I had a spa manicure that involved exfoliation and paraffin, and was the worst manicure I've ever had - the manicurist refused to trim stray hangnails or dead skin, painted more slowly and clump-ily and smear-ily than my little niece would, and put oil on AFTER the polish, which was a disaster. She tried to remove the polish, as it had made this terrible paste with the oil that just smeared it all over my hands, and it wouldn't come off, and I had an event that night that I had to attend, which I had to attend looking as though I had some sort of disorder (and, really, a month later my nails have still not recovered - I've never had a reaction like this). No adjustment was made to the price at the time (I, of course, had paid before getting my nails painted, as one usually does), and I had to spend a half hour on the phone later with the spa manager to get an adjustment - and it turned out after all the ridiculous discussion about it that she only credited my Visa back with $10. Not the price of the terrible manicure, but she'd credited me for a "polish change." Horrible mess of a spa. Shockingly bad.
Pros: None
Cons: NEVER EVER get a manicure here.

First of all, I am a massage therapist myself. I don't work at J.Nicole's, but that's where I go when I want a fantastic massage. The fact that jqueen79's hair is messed up after a massage means that the therapist gave special attention to massaging the scalp. The scalp and head are where most of your major trigger points are located and giving proper attention to this area is the key to a great massage! However, be warned, messy hair may occour upon completion of the service... rediculous. If you are that concerned about your hair after a massage then fork out the $15 bucks for a finish style. Secondly, Nicole, the owner, is very generous to her clients and the community where she conducts business. She gives complimentary add ons to her regular customers and donates quite a bit of money to the community itself as well as non profit organizations such as those associated with cancer research. I have been a client for 4 years and have nothing but great things to say about Nicole, her staff and her business overall. Also, what would a business be without sales? You have to expect that employees and techs are going to reccomend products to guarentee the quality of their services. And the fact that the products are expensive should be expected. This is not a CVS! This day spa uses the best quality brand name products in their services and retail. They aren't like other spas that buy junk products in bulk, then individually bottle it and put their company name on the bottle just to make a profit. J.Nicole's products are the best in the industry, she orders them from all over the world in an effort to bring the best possible products to her clients. I recommend J.Nicole's to everyone I know, it is fantastic! The personal attention you get there is second to none. jqueen79 simply seems like the type of client that can find fault with any situation for the sake of being dramatic and will never be satisfied no matter how hard anyone tries.
Pros: Quality services, Location, Friendly staff with a great sense of humor, Fantastic place!
Cons: Sometimes parking lot is filled. But for good reason.

Overall, the sevices at J. Nicole's are very good. It is conveniently located in Old Downtown Pickerington in a charming, restored vintage home. Improvements: Tipping should always be discreet. Receptionist should never ask tip amount at counter, in front of other customers and with the service provider present. Recommend customers tip the service provider personally, immediatley following the service, or customers given the option to silently write in their tip amount on their credit card bill. Other drawback, customers pressured to purchase expensive products. Also, after a massage or a facial, hair is expected to be in a state of disarray - staff should avoid calling attention and joking about customer's appearance in front of other custumors and staff.
Pros: expertise, friendly staff, facilities
Cons: tipping options, pressure sales
