Best restaurant in the city!!
by hotscottluke at Citysearch
My wife and I went to the Ocean Club for our second wedding anniversary and it was beyond what we expected. It was our first time dining at the Ocean Club and it was recommended by some friends but we couldn't have imagined that it was this fantastic. Our server catered to our every need and the food was absolutely wonderful. I had the scallops and my wife had the salmon both of which where recomendations by our server. The mushroom sauce with my scallops was perfect and my wife liked her salmon so much she wouldn't even let me have a bite!! Everything was so wonderful, I could say more but don't have enough room. We plan on coming back to the Ocean Club way before our next anniversary and highly recommend it to our friends as the best restaurant in the city.
- Pros: Wonderful food, Service, Beautiful Restaurant
- Cons: Parking

Best Restaurant Great Food Great Service

If you want to go out for a special treat you need to try Mitchell's Ocean Club. From the warm wood decor to the walls of wine this place is very cool. I had the Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly with a side of cabernet jus that was obviously hand crafted and not made from a beef base. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Must try appetizers are Tuna Tartar with Avocado and Ponzu and the Jumbo shrimp in Tobasco Butter with cheesy bread. Side dishes are great too Jalapeno gratin-out of this world and the corn are a must. The wine list has more than enough selections (maybe 200) and if you can't find a wine ask for the captains list, some real gems! I don't have enough room to write how great the service was from the time we entered to the time we left. I can tell you we mentioned to the server that we had a baby sitter and they gave us a dessert to give to her--BLOWN AWAY!! If you want a $50.00 meal go to Brio or PF Changs if you want to live like a king for a night visit Mitchell's Ocean Club. I have been to many restaurants in many states and this is by far one of the best.
- Pros: Service, Food, Decor, Cleanliness, Perfection
- Cons: Can be loud but we like action
Perfect for a Special Occasion
by taracookie at Citysearch
My boyfriend and I came here for our one-year anniversary, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. We went on a Saturday night at 6:30 and stayed until 9:30---there was no rush to hurry out of the restaurant at all. The food was fantastic. I had the pineapple-infused-vodka martini with dry ice, which added an incredible effect! We had the calamari to start (good, but kind of a lot for two people because the taste wears on you after a bit), then the caesar salad and beefsteak tomato salad, both of which were wonderful. I had the king crab legs, which is 1 lb. and they are really huge, and my boyfriend had the filet, Oscar-style, which was excellent. We had asparagus and a twice baked potato on the side, both of which were perfectly done...and we had to take half of the sides home because we were so stuffed! We split the pound cake dessert, which is more like an ice cream cake with meringue "frosting" and Graeters ice cream...yum. It was expensive (!), about $160 including tip for both of us, but well worth it for a special night if you want to go all out. And our service was impeccable. The server chatted with us just enough to be friendly and make us feel at home, but kept the perfect amount of distance, too. I can't imagine a better evening.
- Pros: Service, Food, Ambiance, Romantic, Great Special-Occasion
- Cons: Price can add up if you get all the trimmings
Better than the previous

The new patio is great, as is the bar. The dining room can be a bit difficult to navigate on a busy night, most often because of the few access points waitstaff have. The food is generally good, the Ahi Tuna and Avocado appetizer is out of this world. Try the Chef's Selections, they are portioned appropriately and though sometimes over-flavored or overwhelmed by an ingredient, are most often good.
- Pros: Location, good looking hostesses
Overrated & Overpriced
by dantheman45edc at Citysearch
After dining at several of Cameron Mitchell's restaurants around the city, I was prepared for great atmosphere, excellent tasting food, sizeable portions and reasonable prices at the Ocean Club. I did find that the food was prepared very well with many wonderful flavors, however, my overall experience left me unsatisfied. My wife and I are not frequent diners at such up-scale restaurants, and when we do decide to splurge on a meal, we like to feel our money was well spent. The $60 we spent on two very small crab cakes and four scallops did not generate such a feeling. Furthermore, my "crab" salad only included one very tiny piece of crab (maybe 3/4" square). I realize gourmet food is synonymous with small portions, but these portions were laughable in comparison to those plated at Cameron's other establishments. Second, my glass of merlot, again small, was not properly poured. I realize that sediment does, at times, form in a stored bottle of wine, but the bartender should be trained well enough to know how to keep that sediment in the bottle rather than just dumping it all into a customer's glass. Last, when booking my reservation, I was told that the restaurant?s dress code was business casual or formal. However, the diners we encountered wore denim summer wear with adolescent children in tow. Hardly the upscale atmosphere my wife and I expected while celebrating a special occasion. I do wish to thank our server for the free dessert in honor of my wife's birthday. However, that may be the only pleasant memory we will have of the Ocean Club. In total, we spent around $100 for dinner, and next time we visit Easton, I think we'll give P.F. Chang's the opportunity to satisfy our appetites. Sorry.
- Pros: great tasting food
- Cons: extraordinarily tiny portions, below average bar staff, need to enforce dress code
should have kept it the way it was

I've dined at Ocean Club several times, both the "original" Ocean Club and the now remodeled, new concept. The food is still delicious, and the service excellent, but I don't care for the Steakhouse feel and the A la Carte menu items. I concur with some of the other people who commented on the excessive noise of the piano.
Definitely still a nice place to go, but I guess I just yearn for the old Ocean Club.
Any time

You will not believe that but I had the best chicken in my life in Ocean Club!!! Amish chicken is just like heaven!!! My fiances fish was also out of this world!!!!
steakhouse style menu
by finnkinn at Citysearch
Great job on the new decor, but.....could do without dry ice martinis - too much of a gimmick.
High mark up on wine. I don't enjoy steakhouse menus that require me to order huge sidedishes and was disappointed to find it here. The piano is WAY too loud with all the wood and tile surfaces - can't hear well at all. Beautiful patio - well done.
Server seemed overwhelmed and unsure of the food.
- Pros: decor and patio
- Cons: LOUD! gimmicky bar meny
The Swordfish is the best!
by northamericanx15 at Citysearch
Their Swordfish is the best! Grilled with veggies on top of creamy rice... yummy! The price is comprehensive too. I like to sit besides the window and people watching. Service? Couldn't be better.
Terrible!
by chris1961 at Citysearch
Both visits...add poor service with an overly crowded resturant, and you get a noisy and hot visit. Mix that with portions small enough to feed a cat, and you get a bad dinning experience. The food (portion size aside) isnt even that good. To add insult to injury, wait untill you get the bill! The Ocean Club is over rated. If you want to be a trend-setter, and show off your nice watch and suit, this is the place for you. But if you want a nice meal, go somewhere else...anywhere else.
- Pros: there arent any
- Cons: everything
