Editorial Review for Germain Amphitheater – by Tracy Zollinger Turner
The Scene
The pavilion still feels clean and new and is the best place to sit for most shows. Lawn seating improved in the 2000 season with the addition of a new back gate that spills down into an added bar area and Polaris' exit. (You used to have to walk around half the amphitheater to get close to the stage action, food, bars or bathrooms).
Bring Cash
Like most modern amphitheaters, bringing in your own coolers is prohibited here, and buying the McDonald's food will cost quite a bit more than you're used to paying at the drive-thru. Beer and wine aren't cheap either. Because of Polaris' remote location, you also won't find any external parking, so be prepared to shell out $7 at the gate.

I thought this place could use a more recent review than 2003. I've been going to Germain for concerts since 1999, and I haven't seen too many bad changes. Naturally, ticket prices are outrageous, but that's not really Germain's fault. A lot of concert tickets now are including the parking fee, so that saves you $7. I went there last week, and I did notice that you are now allowed to bring food and drinks into the amphitheater with you. You can't bring cans or alcohol, but you'll definitely save money by bringing your own water and snacks instead of buying them there at the horrific prices they charge. Seating isn't bad (I always get lawn tickets), and there are only some areas that have bad views of the stage.
Pros: can bring food/water in, occasional free parking, lots of bathrooms
Cons: high food/beer prices

I saw Pearl Jam play here in June 2003. it is an ok venue. nothing special or different from any other Ampitheater in any other city. It is located right in/near a Corporate Office Park so parking can be tight. also its now Germain Ampitheater not Polaris
