The Scene
Flannagan's is a big tavern which--with its wood rafters--has an almost ski lodge feel. A dance floor fronts a large stage, while outside, scads of people crowd onto the bar's huge patio. Pop-a-shot, darts, video games, pool tables and a plethora of TVs make Flannagan's something of a sports bar.
Who's There
A cross between Gen Xers and yuppies, in age as well as dress. On St. Patrick's Day, it seems like everyone in Columbus is here, along with half the city's radio stations.
The Music
Popular '80s and '90s cover bands: Jonzei, the Snow Shoe Crabs and Shucking Bubba Deluxe play here on Fridays and Saturdays. Other frequent players include The Reganomics, The Whiskey Saints and The Menus.
Pickup Factor
The meat market churns fast and furiously at Flannagan's, aided by such charmingly named shots as the Redheaded Slut and the Dirty Girl Scout.

This is a good place to meet friends for a cocktail, but if your looking for a relaxing atmosphere, go somewhere else. Flannagan's is known for their beach volleyball (which is always packed and a good time), but inside the bar it's crowded and noisy.

This bar is the only bar that I know that clears out by 10 p.m. The place looks deserted after dusk. Why anyone would think that Flannigans is a great place to meet people is beyond me!!! The only thing it has going for it is that you can play sand volleyball and drink beer, but after the games are over everyone leaves to go some place different. My vote is that I can think of many other places to be than Flannigans!!!
Pros: volleyball, close to home, bands
Cons: horrible service, bad seating, not enough parking
