Good but pricey – One of the better steaks I've had in Columbus, but also much more expensive....the sides are wonderful and easily shared by two people, which I wish our server had explained before we ordered 2 each - way too much food. Expect dinner to take at least 2 1/2 - 3 hours - don't go here if you are in a hurry to catch a movie. But the steaks were wonderful and prepared to our exact specifications...a great place for a relaxed, leisurely dining experience.
Great Dining – I was able to take my wife to Ruth's Chris Steak House and I eagerly await the next opportunity to do so again. One of , if not the , best dining experiences of my life .
Having lived in Ft. Lauderdale and W. Palm Beach for 23 years I have sampled some great metropolitan cuisine and Ruth's is certainly among the best steakhouses I have ever enjoyed.
As for expense , some things are worth the price simply because they cannot be duplicated for less.
The Best of The Best! – The food here is truly superior, from sizzling prime steaks to abundant sides. But the real reason to spend your time (and money) here are the people.
The staff at Ruth's Chris of Columbus are probably the single most accommodating and pleasant team of restaurant folk we've ever encountered. Their managers assure your meal is perfection. This is especially true of Managers Adrian, and Debbie who deserve special note for always going the extra mile.
As for servers, ask for Aaron Gillum. Aaron is polite, a master of efficiency, and totally in his element, while making you feel pampered and special. One never doubts that his chief concern is making the customer happy and at ease.
They have our highest recommendation. If you have a special evening in mind, check them out. We drive over an hour each way when we go... they're that good.
WOW – First time here last night. Had heard/read a lot about it. From the moment we got out of the car till we left, it was a WONDERFUL experience. I was a little skeptical going in, but the service, the food, the atmosphere was all well worth the money spent. I had a Ribeye, husband had Filet. Everything was excellently prepared.BEST steak we have had in Columbus. We enjoyed Mitchells, but Ruth's Chris is just a step above. VERY personalized service. Very attentive waiter. Try the Augratin potatoes! Superb! I need to stress that all the staff that saw us, from the bartender, hostess, even waiters other than our own, acknowledged us and said hi. One thing to note, this was on a Tuesday evening, so not sure if service would differ on weekends due to higher traffic, but I would hope not.
happy tummy – I find Ruth Chris Steak,s to be of the finest quality and the service is outstanding, we feel very comfortable and not rushed as has happened in some other establishments. The servers were well prepared on any questions about the menu .if there is one phrase to describe Ruth Chris establishments it is "consistantly Fine dining"
Better than Mitch's – Filet is tender and flavorful and sides are large to be shared. Service is excellent. Pricey but good.
Great Steak-Great Wine – My wife and I drove down from Toledo to take our son and his girl friend out to dinner. We selected Ruth's Chris because they are college students and don't get many opportunities to dine at an upscale restaurant. My wife and I have dined at Ruth's before and hoped the meal in Columbus would be a great experience. We were not disappointed! The steaks were great, done exactly as ordered. We had a great bottle of Jordan cabernet, which is my favorite wine. The service was attentive, and the wait staff did an excellent job. We can't wait to return!
Best in town – Outback, Lone Star and Roadhouse are a huge step below places like Mitchell's, Smith&Wollensky, Ruth's Chris, Hyde Park, etc.... Yes, you pay a lot more but the quality of the steak is vastly superior at an upper-end steakhouse. Service is much better as is atmophere and of course, the food and wine list. Lower-end chains are fine for a steak with the guys but for a fine steak and meal, go to Ruth's Chris or similar. I feel that Mitchell's has a better ambience and is a bit more exciting but while their steak is excellent, I still have to rate Ruth's Chris as a higher quality cut of beef. The taste is just a slight notch higher than Mitchell's or Morton's. I will say, they are a little inconsistent, but on a good night you won't find a better steak in Columbus.
What a steak – The steaks are to die for, side dishes will feed two or more and are delicious. Everything is ala carte, but worth the price. The service is terrific. Great place to take out of town guests, or business dinners. Great for a special occasion as well.
WOW – We have tried many steakhouses over the years and this one keeps rising to the top. Definately the place to go to celebrate something special. The servers are extremely educated in the products and the attention to detail is meticulous (sp). We recommend the filet mignon, cobb salad, and the mashed potatoes. Be aware that the sides are huge and you will probably need to share. Top notch.
