Dr. Joy Harkins is simply amazing. She has treated our dog during routine visits and some rather complicated illnesses. She always takes the time to return my phone calls and has gone out of her way to get to the bottom of what was wrong with our dog. I am so thankful that we have her to guide us and help keep our little guy healthy and happy! I recommend her to friends and family whenever I have the chance. My husband and I just think the world of her, and I even think our dog has a bit of a crush!

Dr. Harkins is the epitome of what every Vet should strive to be. I have liked most of the Vets that I have taken my pets to over my life, but none of them showed the care, dedication and compassion that Dr. Harkins shows. She helped me through a very rough patch at the end of one of my dogs lives and she couldn't have handled it with anymore care and empathy. I knew that she was hurting too, but she provided me with the honest advice that my pet and I needed. I moved away from Columbus and have a new Vet now who I like, but I find myself wishing that I could take my dog to see Dr. Harkins because of the way she interacted with him. As far as qualities that describe Dr. Harkins, rudeness couldn't be farther from the truth. I will always recommend Dr. Harkins to any of my friends living in the Columbus area.

DR. JOY HARKINS IS A FANTASTIC VET! 100% DISAGREE with "Very honest". I have been going to DR HARKINS for over 4 years and have 5 cats and 2 dogs. She is ONE OF THE MOST CARING, LOVING VETS I have ever met. Not once have I ever experienced, or heard while waiting, or heard of Dr Harkins ever being rude or refusing to answer questions. This woman has more patience with people then anyone could ask for and will never EVER be rude. When my dog had epilepsy Dr. Harkins gave me her personal cell to call anytime day or night if a seizure occurred. She has cried with me and most of all laughed with me. She has solved some very difficult health issues with my pets. She loves animals and has the best bedside manner of any vet I have used. I tried 5 other vets when we moved here and was overjoyed when I found Dr. Harkins and Gahanna Animal Hosp. I take it very personally when someone tries to unjustly smear the reputation of a wonderful Dr. and person. DR HARKINS IS A VET AND PERSON OF THE HIGHEST CALLIBER, A CREDIT TO HER PROFESSION AND THE HUMAN RACE! I have, and will continue to recommend Dr Harkins, the fantastic staff and Gahanna Animal Hospital!

I completely disagree about the previous comment regarding Dr. Joy Harkins. She has been my primary veterinarian for years and she has always been wonderful to both me and my 2 pit bull children. She has always provided superior veterinary care and is very kind and patient with me and my furry kids. I will continue to recommend her to others in search of a great vet! Thanks Dr. Joy!

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD EVER TAKE YOUR PETS! DR. HARKINS IS THE RUDEST MOST NONCARING DR I HAVE EVER MET. VERY UNWILLING TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS AND SO SO RUDE. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY!

I love this place. Dr. Rich is so caring, giving and experienced. Also two of the front staff, Kim and Barb, operate rescues outside of work, and many of the staff volunteer their services, as do the vets.

nice job. I am so happy the way this great hospital received me. The very first time I came here they showed love and care and excellent relationship with their customers. Very friendly environment and helpful. Love this place, homely environment.
