Toys R Us has earned a dubious rep as a chain store purveyor of branded, mainstream kid amusements, but when you 8-year-old wants a stuffed Pikachu, there's no better source.

Whether tastes in your household run to Barbies or board games, the selection is wide and the prices are good. High-volume sales mean that shelves are well-stocked, but hot items—think video games and hand-held electronics—can (and do) sell out quickly.
Save It!
It's not the source for idiosyncratic handmade toys or imported exotica, but for brand-name toys and games—and bargains on basic baby supplies, like formula, diapers, and baby food—it's hard to beat. In-store specials and coupon savings help you hang on to more of your hard-earned money.

I bought a Power Wheels car from a garage sale that needed a battery and charger, and I didn't know which battery it took when I went into the store. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in helping me figure out which one it took. The store is very nice on the inside, and my daughter really enjoys poking at all the toys. I highly recommend shopping there.
