Over-rated!. I just don't understand what the fuss is all about. The booths are cramped; the atmosphere is loud and the food isn't all that. I have been to Tommy's three times. Undercooked hashbrowns for breakfast. Funny tasting cheeseburgers. I've had better meals at McDonalds.
Out of this world. Flashback from the past! Owner works himself crazy just to make sure everyone has what they want, just the way they want and had a good time. Felt more like a visit to a relative's house (a relative you'd want to visit anyway)! Nostalgic decor, 50's style! Huge portions! Not a good neighborhood though, get out before dark, avoid ladies hitchhiking and don't take the Mercedes.
Fun '50s decor and a good home-cooked meal for under $10..
The Scene
There's a fun `50s motif, with pictures of Elvis, Marilyn and James Dean everywhere. The sparkly red vinyl booths look great with the black and white check tiled floor and pink neon signs. Sit at the counter with the regulars if you're by yourself.
The Food
Expect classic diner with a Greek accent. The three-egg omelettes come with fresh homemade hashbrowns and toast. Try the Greek version, made with gyro meat and feta cheese. Burgers are offered with a variety of toppings. Other lunch selections include gyros, club sandwiches, tuna melts and roast beef. The restaurant closes before dinner, but still offers bigger meals like meat loaf, liver and onions, pork chops and rib-eye steak. There's a nice selection of salads if you're eating light. Don't miss the cinnamon roll, and ask them to grill it for you.
Tommy' is great!. Family owned business where the owner is on site and takes the time to get to know his customers by name. Infamous for a "regulars" kind of crowd. I couldn't believe this establishment has only raised his prices once in the 10 years I have ate there. It was about time. Call for the daily specials. Great deals there! It has this charming Elvis/James Dean 50's type of decor including a 50's style cash register. I hope he hasn't upgraded.
WOW! What a Lunch!.
I was taken back to a time when food was prepared with love and happiness. My mother would have loved this place if she were alive today.
Lunch was so good it was like coming home from school as a kid and eating with Mom.
Tommy's Dinner is Finer!. Recent visit and my first! Tommys was a nice surprise great service from the point of entering to the time I stepped out the door. Fast very friendly service as well as Hot quality eats! Theme of this location is fantastic and a great place to impress a date or friends. A return visit is on my list. Prices fair and actually low for quality of my dinner. A Must Visit for a good time.
