Editorial Review for Firdous – by Terry Ward Libby and Lori Sutton
The Scene
Brothers Waleed, Nassir and Ssakeeb Latiff opened their first location on High Street over 10 years ago. Campus redevelopment forced them to abandon that location, but they reopened a much fancier version in Upper Arlington. There's also an express counter at The North Market, where the downtown crowd can find the same wonderful food.
The Food
The pita bread is tender, the meats are succulent and the hummus is the creamiest. This stuff is scratch-made daily and top-quality. The gyro meat is roasted right before your eyes. The freshness makes the flavors nice and strong. Don't miss the tabouleh, a salad of parsley, lemon and bulgar wheat. The baba ganoush is arguably the best in the city, and you've never had falafel this good unless you've eaten here before. Save room for a honey-drenched pastry and strong coffee.
