The Scene
In case you weren't sure what type of cuisine you're about to eat, the staff is required to wear those corny French baker's hats and shout "bonjour" at everyone who walks in the door. Service is cafeteria style, which is a pain but gives you a chance to look at all of the food before you order. This is a pleasant breakfast and lunch stop, especially if weather allows for dining on the patio.
The Food
The wood-fired ovens at La Chatelaine turn out some of the finest European-style bread in the city. There's a reliable selection of light items such as potato and tuna salads, grilled croque monsieur and madame sandwiches, quiche and a so-so version of French onion soup. The big draw is the bread and the pastries offered here. The over-sized coconut macaroons are incredible.

I would just like to say that they are a staple in each community there in. La CHatelaine is a great true french restaurant and the owners are truly amazing! Stan and Gigi are great folks who give a lot of their time and effort to the community and customers. THe food is sooooo amazing and these restaurants have become a weekly if not daily routine for my family. La CHatelaine is an experience that transports you back to France. I love it -do not change
Pros: family, fast, friendly, great food
Cons: sometimes there can be inpatient and rude customers that just ruin your time there

I have been coming to La Chatelaine for years and I've had nothing but fantastic experiences! The owners genuinely care about their customers, employees and products. I have hosted large parties there before and the service has been wonderful each time. True, they are occasionally out of some items, but that's understandable when you have such a fresh and desirable product!
Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Patio, Bar
Cons: Occasional waits during lunch
