Beautiful Spa Awful Experience. I found this spa online. I wanted to surprise my mother with a spa package. When I called to inquire about scheduling appoitments the receptionist on the phone explained to me that I could purchase a gift card over the phone for the service amount plus tip (optional) . I was talked out of just paying for it the day of the service. After I spent over $200 dollars they than asked me if I could set up the appoitments for her day package since limited time was available. I did this. We live out of state and dont get the opportunity to visit Columbus regulary. I was explained I had two years to use the gift card. I set up all the appoitments and had her scheduled to come in at 12pm on that wednesday. I dropped my mother off at the spa on that wednesday and they had no records of my scheduled appoitments and could not squeeze me in . This I did not understand because there were about 5 employees sitting in the lobby.. leaving us nowhere to sit. They asked if i wanted to reschedule not having time i politely said no and wanted my money back. I was told that I could not have my money back because it was put on a gift card and they can not refund my money. I was very upset because on the phone I was talked into buying a gift card. The recpetionist was not helpful and explained to me that there was nothing she could offer me because she wasnt the owner. I asked for the owners name and was told that she was not able to provide that information for me. Needless to say I would not recommend this salon to anyone. Seems as if they are more interested in your money than providing a relaxing environment for their clients. VERY DISAPOINTED!

disapointed. I found the spa on line. I am new to the area and wanted to fina a spa in which to relax. I will not return. The "spa" was not really a spa, but a small hair salon. It was loud and the odors form the producrts were not a good experience. I am disapointed, wasted my time and will nto return.
facials are great, pedicure not so much. I have had several facials at Tranquility (with Abby) and found that to be a fantastic experience ! The pedicure was not worth what they charged ! I paid for their hour long pedicure and it lasted only 40 sum minutes and the massage that was suppose to go along with the pedicure consisted of rubbing lotion on your legs for maybe a minute.
Still a contender but needs work.
I have been going to Tranquility now for about 10 years and it has always been one of my favorites, however as of late I have noticed that it isnt quite what it used to be. As a cost cutting measure it appears as though they have stopped setting out granola bars which doesnt seem like much but was something to look forward to while you waited or had a pedicure. Also the drinks are now being served in white styrofoam cups which is odd. Bottles of water are no longer available either.
There used to be headphones for those having a pedicure so that they could listen to relaxing music and I think those are gone as well.
The turnover factor is pretty bad. It appears as though little consideration is given to the gals who perform services since only cash tips can be accepted--thats upsetting to mnay like myself who never have cash or checkbook on hand. To pay the fee on a credit card for an entire service but not the gratuity is miserly and cheap. If these gals were treated better my guess is turnover wouldnt be such an issue. I have a couple more gift certificates to use and then will need to re-evaluate if I want to go back.
Love it!. I have had hundreds of facials and I think this is my favorite place to get them. The estheticians are thorough and they seem to have a real desire to make my face look as good as possible. In other words, they care as much as I do about my face. Thank you!
Fabulous Pedicures. Melissa A does my pedicures. I have been going for 2 years and she is wonderful, professional, and enjoys working with her clients. I really enjoy Tranquility Day Spa and I have been to many a salon/spa in Columbus.
SO RELAXING. I love this spa. I have gotten multiple facials there and have always had a great experience. I've even had my esthetician call to check-up on a treatment after my visit! I also had the best pedicure there! I highly recommend it!
Not my favorite spa.
The staff at Tranquility seems to change a lot, but maybe that's the nature of the business. I've used their services on and off for a number of years. Erin is not there, so I followed her to her new place, Salon Lofts/Grandview.
I love the concept of Salon Lofts and the Grandview location is really nice, easy to park, nice central location.
Nice spa, but where did Erin go?. Erin was AMAZING. I have no idea why she is no longer here. This is a really nice spa! The atmosphere is awesome, and very relaxing. The oxygen facial is incredible, especially if you tend to suffer from dry skin. However, I don't buy their products because I don't like them. I had a bad reaction to the products I bought, as well as the sample products. Not sure why but I've never had a bad reaction with their facials, just the products they sell. Unless they don't use the products they sell? I know, it's weird, lol. I had a facial last week and had to try a a new girl since my regular girl doesn't work there anymore (very surprised by this). I really didn't care too much for the girl that did my facial. My skin didn't look any different! I don't think I will be going back. I gave this spa a great review because it's a great place, but without Erin it's just not the place for me. If anyone knows where she is working please post. She was a total asset!

I have gone here a few times before services were okay, girls were nice, but every time I found someone I liked going to they ended up leaving or being fired. Never knew what happened to them they would just try to switch me to someone else. A high rate of turnover is not a good sign in my opinion( even the girls up front change constantly).
The other downer is they push buying products way too much. It made me feel like they just wanted my money, even if I said I wasn't interested it would be waiting for me at the front desk. Making me even more infuriated. Its apparently a husband and wife who own it and I heard something being said about there being cameras there last time I was in. Last thing I want when going to a 'discreet tranquil' place is to be on candid camera!!
All this speaks of bad management and its very obvious that employees aren't that happy there. I'll go somewhere else and I'd advise others to do the same!
