Editorial Review for Silla Restaurant and Karaoke Bar – by Kae Denino
The Menu
Restaurant Silla serves authentic Korean food, including hot pepper beef, a steaming, scintillating plate of pan-fried beef in a rich brown sauce. If you smile nicely when ordering, you'll receive all the great side dishes that come with Korean meals, like kim chee, mung sprouts and thinly sliced potatoes.
The Scene
The restaurant, which has an elegant and clean ambiance, is open until 2am. And while the cooks sizzle up something sinful, young people, Korean and otherwise, belt it out on a tiny stage under a disco ball, singing karaoke. With Silla's full bar and fun drinks that come in tiki glasses with umbrellas, the singing can get pretty crazy.
When to Go
Come here late, when the young and Tommy Hilfigered of Columbus have been out drinking all night and need some swivel chairs and soft music so they can relax.

My friend took me and my sister to Silla for my birthday. I've never eaten in a Korean restaurant, mostly my friend's Korean Granny's cooking, Bol go gi and Kimchee. My friend arrived before me and the hostess asked her if she was waiting for a man, not so bad but none of her business. And when we were sat they wanted our orders right away, but we politely told them I and my sister had never eaten there and they took our drink order instead. Soon we have decided what we want to eat...and there is no one to take our order. We wait, and about 15 minutes go by when we finally get our drinks and order taken. It takes a while for our food, which I didn't mind. And we get the traditional Korean set up our main dish w/ several little dishes. I personally enjoyed all the food my sister and friend not so much. Everytime we need a refill the waitress just walks by, and we have to flag down someone to get us something to drink. All the while Korean families are walking in and seem to be getting slightly more attentive service. I don't think the waitresses are doing this intentionally I understand that our waitress in particular didn't seem to speak entirely fluent English, and I myself would probably gravitate to people who I shared a common language with, but I digress when you have been sitting with an empty cup for 10 minutes and you're eating spicy chicken... you tend to become frustrated. It didn't help that we saw a horrible man grab a waitress and wave money in her face demanding his pickup order. Finally we've finished our meal and we sit there plates pushed aside so our waitress knows we're ready for our check, and wait...and wait, while our waitress who is now sitting at the table next to ours and EATING finally sees that we twiddling our thumbs and gives us our check. So if you aren't in a hurry and don't mind being neglected the food at Silla is pretty good , though their sushi is rather sweet.
Pros: Good food
Cons: Service, service and service

Where else can you get a raw beef dish? I don’t mean asking for a rare steak from a lazy cook, this dish is uncooked. I won’t try to give the name and embarrass myself because of my poor memory, not that I could tell you if the menu was in front of me. If you are not an adventurous person you may have a limited selection of entrées, but what you get will probably be good. They have sushi, which most people enjoy, even if you don’t like raw fish many types don’t have raw fish, try shrimp or crab which is usually imitation crab and fully cooked. Don’t get the soft shell crab, this is central Ohio the crab is nothing like the coast, ugh. The staff is hit-or-miss, usually pretty good though, remember you are guests in their country while there and English is not their first language, snickering at the menu will not help the service you get. I recommend this piece of Korea for a try, it’s like a Korean diner.
Pros: Variaty, small (Korean) town feel.
Cons: Language barrier.
