Free Music! Free Music!
Music in the Air, part of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, offers more than 100 free concerts at city parks and recreation centers from May through August. The "Rhythm on the River" series on Friday evenings at Bicentennial Park attracts folks to the Olentangy River in downtown Columbus with folk, jazz, gospel, rock and silent-film music. On Sunday mornings, folks bring lawn chairs, bagels and iced cappuccinos to Goodale Park in the Short North for the jazz series.
Barbershop Quartets and Latin Music
Children's concerts are held at Franklin Park and the Whetstone Park of Roses, while August brings the community festival at Glenwood Rec Center and the Barbershop Music Invitational. Music In the Air also sponsors the Latino Festival, one of the liveliest and fastest-growing festivals in town.
