Mynt needs an enema. I went to Mynt with a group of friends on 10/3/09. To walk into the upstairs bar you had to push your way through a bunch of 15 or so morons that were standing right in the doorway. Once I got past the roadblock, the bar was empty but the decor and the house music was pretty cool. (note to mgmt: block the view of the entrance way from the upstairs bar to prevent people from standing in the doorway)

We then went downstairs to the nightclub area. The place reminds me of a railroad car(the look and the smell). It seemed to be about 15 ft wide and 50 ft long. The "dance floor" was more like a hallway with people constantly walking between your group as you're trying to dance. Also, some filthy pig was crapping their pants every 2 minutes leaving us gasping for fresh air.

The "music" was impossible to dance too. The mix the DJ was playing would change songs every 10 seconds, jumping from hip-hop to 80's alternative to 70's disco leaving you stumbling around, not knowing if you should breakdance or squaredance. I felt like I was going schizophrenic.

I won't be visiting Mynt again.

OLD CARLILE. I was at carlile saturday june 3, 2006 at 1am and there was 25 people total on the dance floor. Place was empty! My buddy stopped in on Friday and he said there was about ten people. Best thing Carlile can do is close the doors. I heard it is the same deal up at Arlington Cafe. Who ever owns the two must like losing money because he is not getting any of mine! I will walk down to Spice, Surgar or Lodge Bar at least there are people there.

Friday's at Carlile rock. Carlile is unpretentious club - no lines, no cover, but great DJs and well dressed crowed. They say this is the longest running club in Columbus, which speaks for itself. Great sound. Friday's feature great electronic music DJs, either resident due David and Nino or guest DJs.

Carlile Reinvented. The Carlile has reinvented itself as a HOT spot to be in Columbus. The place to be on a Friday night out on the town. They have great drink specials and more importantly great music. Friday nights are where you can go to get your DIIRRY HOUSE SESSIONS featuring David Farlow and Nino Anthony,founders of Portamento Records.These two Columbus DJ's heat up the night with their original sounds to get you up and dancing until the wee hours!! A MUST SEE!!! They also have dj's on thursday night,another great night out to kick off a weekend.

The adventuresome decor and high-end liquor make this place a magnet for attractive, not-so-young professionals.. The Scene
From the street, Carlile looks like little more than a kiosk of a bar with nice glassware. The postcard-sized upper room is simply a small lounge that provides a little respite from the noise in the main bar. Descend the staircase and you'll find a bigger, glitzier place. A blocky room with exposed brick walls, the club's designers have made it feel a little friendlier by carving out a deep, organically-shaped dance floor lined with curvy shelves where you can rest your drink. A neon martini glass lights up one end of the room and gives the space a modern glow.

The Draw
Higher end brands of vodka and scotch sit upon glass, backlit shelves. It's pretty, making patrons more inclined than usual to indulge in a cocktail. Convention center visitors and hockey fans show up now and then. Mainly, the crowd consists of attractive women in their late 20s/early 30s and the successful-looking, tan men over 40 who pursue them.
