Only loved by the "Housewives of Columbus". I was hoping for a special celebration dinner and came away extremely disappointed. The menu is limited and the presentations and portion sizes are small. The crowd noise on a Saturday night was extreme and the mood could best be described as pretentious. My fish entree was bland and small. Extremely disappointed.…
Best in Columbus.
After being disaapointed in my last few dinners out I took a friend's advice and went to RIgsbys. Glad I did. The food is outstanding. Good italian wine. Do as I did. Order the specials of the
night that are not on the menu. :Last time I had it this good was Handkes
The ceasar salad is outstanding. I know...it's salad, how good can it get? In this case it gets pretty darn good.
The chairs were odd. Something from the 70's and seemed out of place but who cares when the food is this good.
Dinner at Rigsbys then Jenni's ice cream & coffee (or cocktail if the wine wasn't enough) at Burgundy Room. That's a wrap.
I can add Rigsbys to the short list of places that are top notch. Handkes, The Refectory...and now Rigsbys.…
Too salty, Too oily, Too Rich, and Bland (Vegetables worse than a college dining hall!).
The side dishes served with the lamb stew were way too small. The completely ordinary broccoli was way overcooked, then dried out in the oven. It was drowning in salt and melted butter-- really
inedible.
The large portion of lamb was from a local farm and pretty good, but since I prefer a smaller serving of meat, it was very disappointing to not have anything else to enjoy, except the bread which was very good.
Hasn't the idea of 'Nouvelle' cooking been around for over 25 years?! I expected a more original vegetable recipe, and also Nicer Presentation. Nothing was served with a sprig of fresh mint, rosemary, chives, or even the usual parsley. (I looked around at other diners' plates and noticed more boring meals.)
I am not a chef, but even my own dinertime creations are brightened up by chunks of mango with ginger or thin slices of orange pepper, and if the stew says 'mint', we should actually taste it!…
Worst EVER Treatment of Patrons.
How can a restaurant that claims to be one of Columbus' finest treat their patrons like dirt? I am another one of the many of people that went to that special goodbye luncheon, only to have racked up
a $26 bill for a burnt hamburger. I vow to NEVER set foot in this place again. Being charged ONCE for our meals was bad enough ( it took forever for our food to arrive, so therefore I had no choice but to try and eat my burnt sandwich. No one had time to wait for me to re-order!)
Ok people, it has been since January 17th, when they double charged our cards! On the 25th of February, I sent in the credit card error report, complete with my credit card number (AGAIN) and it has been almost two weeks and still NO REFUND~! What is the deal? I have made lots of phone calls, spoken to the accountant, the owner, the bartender, and yet NO ONE has cared enough to really respond to us. We are talking hundreds of dollars here. If you are smart, you won't even go there, but if you do, PAY CASH>>>> that way you won't be screwed out of your $ like the rest of us.
The days of good customer service used to outnumber the bad, not in this place. Read all these reviews, we aren't the only disgruntled patrons of this supposed FINE dining establishment. Go across the street to MAC'S, it's worth your time and money. I haven't EVER had bad service or food there! I wish I could say the same thing for Risgby's. I have eaten at many of the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants here in Columbus, so I know good food, good service and value for my money. I really feel that they should better treat the ones who had no control over this issue.... I hope if you are visiting our fine city, that you will have a better experience than we did.…
fine dining doesn't equal fine service.
on the 15th of january a group of my co-workers and i went to rigsby's for lunch. on the 17th my co-workers had discovered that we had all been charged twice, due to rigsby's credit card machine
"going down". my charge was $7.56, (by far the smallest bill at the table) the others were in excess of $20.00. i started calling the resteraunt and spoke with the accountant "we are working on it " was all i got through several phone calls. then i was able to get in touch with the owner, (after more than 10 days of being told someone would call me back). when i spoke with tassi rigsby she said it was being taken care of. after 30 days of waiting for the $7.56 charge to be removed i called back and spoke with the owner again and she proceeded to tell me that they needed more info off of our credit cards faxed to them in order to go through thier records and find the charges. they couldn't have called to tell us any of this?... because they certainly had our phone numbers. at on point tassi said she would contact one of us within the hour and that never happened. never through any of these conversations with the owner or the accountant was an apology made or the offer of eliminating the charges completely or gift cards or anything. as of the week of the 21st of feb (more than 30 days) when i recieved the credit card correction form, filled it out and sent it back. i have yet to recieve a credit to my account and it has been 39 business days. no excuses.
stick to old faithfull across the street "MAC'S" better service better food and i never have to worry about the charges.…
