If you go, park somewhere else or they rip you off!.
Spent time there with my wife, we walked around for an hour, everything way over priced. Very interesting setup, but way way over priced. Nice patio bars in the area though. Bar Louie is wonderful. Upon leaving, the $2 parking tab turned into $16 snce we didn't buy anything in the Market. I contacted 3 different members on the North Market asking why we got taken, and not one of them had the time to reply.
Don't give them your business, many parking garages in the area and nice bars all around there. Don't let them ruin your evening like they did ours!

My favorite place to eat and buy fresh produce!.
This is the diamond of Columbus! They have a great selection of restaurants and shops for all occasions. I love all the little places there, but my favorite is the Jose Madre salsa stand where you can sample all the unique salsas (the owner is so sweet and nice). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

good stuff.
I had some time to spare while in downtown columbus one day so I went to the north market to see what the hype was all about. I definatly understood as soon as I walked in the door. mothers with their kids, college students and business men all sharing their lunch hour in the earthy restaurant/grocery store/shopping center known as North market. I grabbed a sandwich at the deli and it was deeeelicous. I was almost late for my appointment because there was so much to look at and take in. fresh produce, homemade jewelry...a great place for a saturday morning look around!

Meet for lunch or pick up some fresh gourmet groceries at this Columbus landmark..
The Scene
The North Market is more upscale than your typical farmer's market. It's a place to be seen on Saturday morning, and where the politicos go to get their petitions signed. Multicultural and alternative products are found at 32 stands, which are individually owned (no chains or corporations). There's coffee by the cup or pound, fine cigars and natural home and health products. The place is a real hot spot at lunchtime as it's within walking distance of Nationwide, the convention center and various other businesses.
The Food
Flavors of India makes a mean mango lassi to wash down your vegetarian plate. Go to Firdous Express for falafel and hummus. Choose between German pastries at Juergen's Bakery or organic baked goods at Del's. Shopping for dinner? Bob "the Fish Guy" will wrap you up a fresh catch to take home.
