Editorial Review for Spaghetti Warehouse – by Tracy Zollinger Turner
The Scene
A national chain with individual restaurants in several cities, The Spaghetti Warehouse began turning old warehouses inside out in 1972. Each one is decorated with old arcade games, antique furnishings and a trolley car dining room (the most requested place to sit in the house). The Columbus location opened in 1978, on the west side of downtown. It was sort of a lonely destination in the `80s, with little else surrounding it. Times are likely better for the place these days, since COSI opened up next door.
The Food
While the restaurant boasts a patented method of cooking spaghetti and homespun recipes by its original chef, the food is pretty uninspiring. If you like your Italian cuisine devoid of garlic and spices, this is the place to go. Otherwise, just soak up the atmosphere and feed the kids-- they can't help but enjoy the restaurant's nutty nostalgia.

I went to the spaghetti warehouse for dinner about two weeks ago and the food was great, I had the spicy shrimp asparagus pasta which was really good, I did not care for the shrimp tails being left on though. I love the spaghetti warehouses building; its décor is really interesting. The best part about my experience at the spaghetti warehouse is the service; our waiter was friendly, informed and timely. This is all I could ask for when I go out to eat.
Pros: great service, great food, fast
Cons: akward parking

Spaghetti Warehouse is a wonderful restaurant. I love every thing about it!!! Located in an actual turn of the century downtown warehouse, it has a charm all it's own. The inside ambiance is casual and laid-back. The decor is a light hearted hodge podge of vintage kitsch, everything from old movie poster's, church stain glass windows, to a trolley car converted to serve meals in. Let's not forget the food. If you love traditional Italian cuisine the Spaghetti Warehouse aims to please. I recommend their lasagna and angel hair pasta combo (my personal favorite). Anyone seeking a fun, casual meal at a reasonable price look no further than the Spaghetti Warehouse.
Pros: Fun atmosphere with great food
Cons: Can be quite crowded at times
