The worst – Was in for our lunch hour a few weeks ago...was seated and greeted promptly. I ordered a burger, and my wife ordered soup and salad (we intentionally ordered something fast, because we where about 10 minutes from our offices) ...then...nothing. 15 minutes go by, and we start seeing others being served, that ordered after us. I asked another wait person to send ours out (havent seen him once since ordering), and informed him what was happening, and our time issue. He said he would check on our order right away. 10 minutes later, we see more and more people getting their meals that ordered well after us, and some were full blown dinner entrees with sides. I asked for our wait person again, and asked him what the problem was...how others can be served full meals, but we have to wait 25 minutes on a single burger and soup? I also asked to speak to the manager. He said he would send the manager right out, and go check on our order. 10 minutes later, no food, and no manager. We then saw people who were seated after us, getting ready to leave, so at this point, we figured we join them, and left. On our way out, the host says, "Thanks for choosing Damons, please come again." where I informed him that we weren't even served, and that we would never be back.
Great service, good food, friendly atmosphere. – I visit this restaurant once a year right after the State High School Wrestling Tournament. For the last 10 years, this place has been consistant with food quality, friendly service and reasonable prices. Usually I am a party of about 20 people who decend on this restaurant at about 9:30-10 pm on a Saturday Night. The employees of this restaurant never make us feel unwelcome. They always greet us with a smile and serve us courtiously and as quickly as can be expected with a large group like this.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Columbus area! Go to Schottenstein Center, watch a game and go to Daemons!
The Best Happy Hour in Town! – Damon's Happy hour can not be beat, half off all drinks including top shelf and appetizers. Therefore between 3-7 M-F it?s the place to be. The wait staff is extremely nice and will accommodate anyone with anything! I am not sure about the other reviewers, I have gone to this Damon?s for the last 10 years and have yet to leave unsatisfied!! The onion loaf is always a good bet, but mixing it up some with chicken tenders or wings is quite good. Definitely ask for a few dipping sauces because they are all so good, especially the sweet chili sauce. The Long Islands Ice Teas are the pretty the gold standard for the regulars, but the also have a solid selection of bottled beers and wines. Their signature ribs are tender and juicy along with the steaks. They also offer huge salads with any type of meet and sauce combo creating a meal that will easily satisfy health conscious meat lovers. All and all the place is great for watching a game, eating with the family, drinking with friends, or even just to have a bite and play trivia on the big screens!
Bad Customer Service and Food – When my daughte and I traveled to Columbus recently, the main reason we stayed at a particular hotel was because it was right next door to a Damon's Restaurant. We love Damon's because of the great food and great service. We lost the last Damon's in our area, and were eager to try the one in Columbus. But boy were we disappointed. The service was terrible. We went before the dinner hour, and it wasn't even crowded. But the worst part was that we had the most horrible prime rib ever. It was nothing but a blob of fat with a few chewy pieces of meat attached. We should have complained, but we were due to attend an event and didn't want this horrible experience to make us late. I would NEVER go there again, and I may write the restaurant to demand a refund!
they hate sports fans – My friends and I went to Damons to watch a Monday night football game. With two minutes left in the forth quarter of an intense football game, the manager kicked us out and was very rude to us as we left. I will never go here ever again. If you like sports you wont either.
