Bed of Roses
A large section of the park is dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of roses. Every June, rose devotees travel from near and far to ogle and smell the thousands of roses blooming at the annual Rose Festival. The rose garden offers a great setting for strolling, dog walking or just sitting on a bench and enjoying the colorful view.
The Grounds
Greater Whetstone Park also offers a soccer field, tennis courts, softball diamonds, bike trail, a shelterhouse, picnic area and children's playground. Several footpaths and a bike trail winds along the riverfront. You'll also find lots of dogs getting acquainted on the fields any given morning.

The main theme of this park is wide open space and relaxation. As you enter the park from the main street you will see a library to your right. The library has plenty of books, dvds and computers available for you. Nearby the library is a tennis court and open fields which have several baseball diamonds in them. As you descend the road that leads deeper into the park, you will notice a prarie to your left. The prarrie has fantastic informational boards with notes on some of the various plants, flowers and insects in and sorrounding it. Move further along the road and you will wind into the main park area. To your right are the fabulous rose gardens and a small community center. The rose gardens are renowed for their magnitude and quality. Each summer, the park holds a festival where the main highlight is the rose garden. Across the rose garden and community center sit wide open fields. These fields are open for sports and just about everything else you can think of. The field area, and the park for the most part, is pretty quiet and relaxing. Bushes and trees run along the bike trail, that traverses the edge of the park, and lower the sound that comes from the freeway on the other side. The bike trail itself is very long. It is a place where you can bike, run or skate. The trail connects to other parks and neighborhoods and it can be used to get downtown. Ponds and other things await you at this park. I could go on and on about the park, but it is so large that it would take me over the maximum character limit to describe it all. Simply put, it one of the best places in Columbus to go and relax.

One of the best tourist sites in state of Ohio!! If Triple A has not listed it in their guide book yet they should. I visited there last year on my birthday and it was indeed a sight to behold....11,000 gorgeous rose bushes staring you in the face. USA Today recommended as one of the 10 best rose parks in the world - not just the country. Heading To Rose Festival, Cincyrose
