Dante's Pizza

Loved it long time.... My family has been patronizing Dante's for almost 40 years. Joe, and now Pat, along with the rest of the gang make great food - period. This friendly Clintonville restaurant has been reviewed as small but I call it "intimate." When I first took my young son, Joe gave slices of pepperoni to him. This continued for years. When I took my 3-year old grandson, the first thing Pat did for him was to "sneak" him pepperoni.

There are still discount coupons on the back of local Kroger receipts. Also they recite "cash or checks only" now when you call to avoid problems discussed in other reviews.

I'll be ordering carryout tonight - yum.......…

Disappointed. We got hooked on Dante's II in Worthington off of Lazelle years ago. This location has since closed and we have since moved from Worthington to Reynoldsburg. From time to time throughout the years my husband has drove out to Clintonville (when visiting family that live closer) to get the best pizza ever! I drove last night for the first time from Reynoldsburg (to surprise my husband) and my only disappointment would be cash or check only. Not a big deal had I been told when I called and said I was coming from Reynoldsburg etc. Remember, I am not familiar with picking up the pizza etc.. Just eating it. This info. would have been nice to know. So after a trip to the UDF to use the ATM and $5 in atm fee's all I was offered was a $1 off for my inconvenience. (mind you, two kids in tow) The pizza though was well worth it and it is the BEST PIZZA we've ever had! Now I know cash or check only...so just be aware of this if your not a regular customer.…

Nice people, and the pizza is amazing. I moved out of the area for about 15 years. I used to get Dante's at least once a week, and when I moved back to Clintonville, I was SO happy to see that they were still there. They have a new sign out front. I liked the old one better, but that's my ONLY complaint about this place.

Flat out, their pizza is outstanding, and not just for the area, but for Columbus as a whole. That's saying a lot because there are LOT of places making good pizza here.

In any case, I think good pizza starts with the dough, and Dante's has this down pat. The dough they use for their food is beyond excellent, and something you don't find at everyday pizza shops. They serve up a medium/thin crust pizza. They use plenty of good quality cheese. Toppings are generous, and good quality. The prices are more than fair.

Dante's serves up amazing pizza, not just for those lucky enough to be near them, but it's some of best pizza in Columbus, better than Rotolo's, Panzera's and Tommy's. The only place I can think of that comes close is Iacono's on Kenny Road.

But I can't recommend Dante's highly enough, though my ONE major gripe is they don't take check/debit cards, so bring cash or a check.
