solid good food.
I eat fairly regularly at Min-ga. Im comfortable its pretty much the best Korean food in town.
Eating there is not for those who are looking for the "restaurant experience" of linens, a solicitous staff, or valet parking. Theyre in a strip mall with boring decor, and usually have sports on the TV. Rather, it's all about good food, authentic Korean home cooking. My current favourites are the Zam Bong (a spicy noodle soup), seafood bimbimbap, squid bokum, and zazang myun. For the less adventurous or the newbie- japchae, kalbi or bulgogi are a nice way to start. The kimchi sides that come with the meals are out of this world good. For a fun date-night dinner, consider the jeongol for two.
Also... they have a good lunch menu with good prices and nice variety. It's a huge amount of food, even at lunch, and I invariably come home with leftovers. The appetizers are overpriced, but it's easy to skip them.
They will vary the amount of heat, if youre nervous about how spicy Korean food can be. When Im there, there's rarely any non-Asians there, and the staff is (amusingly) careful to make sure I know what Im ordering.
MinGa is truly comfort food of a different sort.
Excellent Korean food!. Excellent Korean food. My first visit was last weekend, I drove 1/2 way across Columbus to get it for lunch one day during the week and I'm headed back there again this weekend. I like spicey, so that was not an issue. I've had two noodle dishes, one a soup with seafood and another a noodle dish with beef and vegetables. I'll never remember the names of them, but I'll find them again on the menu. The only downside is that while I'd like to try more from their menu, both of those were so good that I will probably keep ordering the same thing!
Excellent Korean food!. This was my first experience with Korean food and it was good. My server was friendly, and the restaurant was quiet. I ordered f-11 which I forget the name of, but it was like a rice cake soup w/ beef and egg. Also when you order they bring out 10 small dishes of different vegetable's some w/ curry and some without, The food was really good, and I would like to recommend it to any one who is looking for something different.
Min-Ga is the best Korean food around.. Great tasting food!!! Many items on the menu, all are excellent. On hot days i recomend the cold noodle soup its one of my favorite dishes. Service is great by most of the staff. I recomend this place to everyone. The owner does most of the cooking,so you know its done right!!! Min-GA , if you go there once you will be there twice!
Excellent korean food. Take it from this Korean that this is some of the best Korean food you'll find in the midwest. Even in Chicago, my hometown, there are a few places that rival this place. You may think it's a bit pricey but the quality is definitely worth it; no skimping on ingredients. Service is prompt and the restaurant very clean.
NOt bad, mixed service. Terrible soondoobu. If that is your thing, stay away. My kalbee tang was good though. Service from one waitress was great, the other, who spoke no english, was slow and frustrating. A korean restaurant should always be ready to refill the tiny sidedish plates. This place was slow and you practically had to hunt down a waiter to get 2nds. The soondoobu was OVERLY spicy, and we even asked for it to be mild. Even with one cup of water it was too spicy. Overall the place appeared clean, and the food was good, minus the soondoobu.
Excellent Food, Excellent Service, Good Value...a well kept secret..
Out of about twenty visits, my wife and I (who are Korean food addicts), were completely satisfied with the quality and quantity of food. The service staff is consistently friendly, helpful, courteous and very fast! A very good value!
Overall, I highly recommend this little jewel off Bethel Rd.
Tasty.
The owner cooks the food by herself and it did not seem they use MSG. The taste is good and even better in some menu. It is little pricy but acceptable.
The service is good and they are very frendly.
The place is not romantic.
It is just traditional Korean food and I think better in town.
User review by brit1. We went at lunchtime when an OSU game was on, so ample parking and prompt seating was inevitable. The restaurant is nicely decorated, although as were were the only people there, the ambiance was lacking. Our server was very friendly, and explained in detail what everything was, but she pretty much brought us our food, and then seemed much more interested in watching the game on tv. The food was tasty, but the portions were rather small. We weren't hungry when we left, but there was no way our meals were going to keep us going for the day. This was nice for a change, but I doubt we'll go again.
Quality, authentic Korean.
As a veteran of Korean food for over 30 years, I can warmly endorse Min-Ga. It has authentic Korean food. The service is excellent. It's located just off Rt315 on Bethel Rd.
Try the Bul-Go-Gi (barbeques beef) or the Kalbi (Short ribs). You won't be disappointed.
