Shopping >Fifth Avenue Floral Co
I went to this florist on recommendation from a friend of mine who got his girlfriend flowers and he said she absolutely loved them. After reading the reviews I was not sure I should use them but decided to since they were recommended. The flowers my Grandmother got were beautiful and lasted for quite a while. I wrote this review because she just went on and on how much they brought smiles to her and lasted forever.
TERRIBLE SERVICE! RUDE STAFF.
I didn't even want to give this company 1 star but apparently I have to so that I can share my review..
As many times as I have experience indecent service in any type of business, I have NEVER taken the time to write a review for a company. Until now. The service is absolutely awful at Fifth Avenue Floral Co.
My fiance is deployed overseas and he placed an order with this company online for flowers to be delivered to me on Valentine's Day. He placed the order 2 WEEKS before Valentine's Day and he received a confirmation email with an order ID number and payment confirmation along with a description of the products ordered. When the 14th came around, I had no idea I was even supposed to be receiving anything. He then asked me that night "did you get the flowers I sent you?" Naturally, I was confused because I hadn't received anything. Since he was deployed, he couldn't call the company to ask what had happened and when I did, the shop was closed.
The next day, I called the shop and asked to speak to the manager on duty. She was extremely rude and not helpful whatsoever. She even had the audacity to blame my fiance for not calling to place the order for such a busy day!!! HE'S DEPLOYED! Absolutely heartless. She made up some story to try to cover the butts and I didn't buy it. She asked if I still wanted the flowers, but they wouldn't get to me for 3 days and she still wanted to charge my fiance!! No way!! I told her I would gladly take my business elsewhere, and for a company that "prides themselves on their outstanding service" they did a horrible job. I'm now seeing that I'm not the only one that has had terrible service with this company. Their prices may be reasonable, but their service is terrible and their staff is rude and helpless.
DON'T GO TO 5TH AVENUE FLORAL. There are plenty of other places in the area with a wider variety of flowers and arrangements with comparable prices with MUCH better service.
HORRIBLE Service, decent prices.
MUST READ REVIEW!!! PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE GOING WITH 5TH AVE!!!! I'd like to start off this review by saying that I have never experienced service so exceptional or so horrendous to merit writing a review, however the service I received from 5th Ave was so horrible that it deserves my first-ever official review of a business.
My experience went as follows:
I wanted to purchase a $75 bouquet for my partner as a congratulations for completing their first major test in professional school. Knowing my partner's schedule, I requested if the delivery could be made in a 4 hour window. The employee at 5th ave informed me with reserved annoyance that the bouquet would go out on the next round of deliveries, and couldn't guarantee that it would fit in the window. I asked if a note could be made to make the bouquet later, or to hold off the delivery for a round so that it would be delivered the window I had requested. This time the employee didn't care to hide their annoyance at all, and informed me that this just couldn't be done. Finally, I asked if I could try calling back at a later time closer to the 4 hour window (which would be about an hour away), so that the bouquet could be made and delivered then. The employee told me I could do so, so long as I called before 2pm, which is when no more same-day delivery orders can be made.
I called back at 1:45pm, getting a different 5th ave employee. This person had even less patience and respect for their customers than the last one I spoke with. They informed me that they were no longer taking orders for deliveries that day, and that I'd have to wait to have the flowers delivered tomorrow. I protested that the previous employee I spoke with told me I could call back later so long as it was before 2pm, which it clearly was. The employee didn't even apologize for the miscommunication, simply informing me that more orders had come in between my first call (which was just an hour before) and then, making it impossible to deliver the flowers that day.
Thankfully I was able to contact another flower store that could make the delivery inside my requested window (quote: "That will be no problem at all!"), so the surprise wasn't entirely ruined.
5th Ave has obviously missed the point of the "flower buying experience" and how its not just the flowers, but also the experience of purchasing flowers, that makes the whole process a joyful one for both the purchaser AND receiver of the flowers. No one wants to spend $75 upward and feel horrible afterwards for it.
5th Ave has lost a customer for life, and I hope any potential customers who are reading this review. If you want to experience the enjoyment of buying flowers for those you love, you won't get that with 5th Ave, I was instead left with an experience that gave me a very bad taste in my mouth which I had to overcome before I could refocus my energies to celebrating my partner's exciting accomplishment!
Thanks for reading this review!
Not very helpful. I went to 5th ave. floral for my first time the other day because I knew they had been around for awhile and thought they must still be in business because they are great. Well, I'm wondering how they are still in business because the lady I dealt with was not very helpful or friendly. The flowers are reasonably priced, but I'm not sure my bouquet really looked the best. Oh well, my friend appreciated them anyways, but would probably not go back to this florist again.
