A man's home is his castle and you'll need one to house some of these pieces.. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall


standing nearly 10 feet tall. That's just one of many grandiose items at Grandview Mercantile. This late 19th century piece was tagged at $950 but other big big-ticket items included an intricate handcarved sideboard ($5500) and an enormous (7' x 6') armoire ($4500). In other words, this is much, much more than a knickknack store.





Have a Seat and More


Besides furniture, the store has an extensive collection of artwork, silver and china. But while the merchandise is precious, the atmosphere isn't. Most items aren't glassed in or roped off and the staff is far from fussy.





More Dealers Than Vegas


Aside from their own goods, Grandview Mercantile rents booths to outside collectors, roughly 80 dealers in all. Quality varies from one case to the next but even these displays aren't vulgar. And other than an unfortunate Statue of Liberty pencil holder, almost nothing crossed the boundary into kitsch.
