A ggod place.. I have been going there for over 30 years, and it has good grub. they are famous for their outstanding Reuben sandwich. the decor is a little dated, but they have stood the test of time, and are an area landmark.

overall a really great little place!. A nice little place. One part is a bar if you are up for that, but then they have a whole seperate room with tables if that's what your up for. A wide selection of food from burgers, to fish, to steaks and all kinds of stuff in between. Service is good and both myself and girlfriend were happy with the food and how it tastes and the price we paid!!! You should at least try it out once!

User review by lori908. Casual dining. Seemed to a Mom and Pop's Restaurant with a great variety of food. Cheap beer, good service and nice people made our experience worth while.

Buckeye fans' neighborhood bar & burgers. Still one of the very best burgers (real beef, all beef) in region. Also other classic made All-American sandwiches and foods. Get the wedge frys not the french-fries. Waiters are better bar-tenders or sometimes cooks than waiters, but they fit the experience. Decor is the old original (dated) -- but prices have just been raised, so expect some of the new profits to be put into a wash and repaint at least, to attract more under 40 year-olds. New sign is the only new thing -- but it does not fit classic diner-like bar & grill image.

The hangout for Grandview's non-hipsters.. The Scene
This eatery has been a Grandview landmark since 1964, well before the trendy hot spots on Grandview Avenue appeared a few blocks away. The tavern is an alternative for people in the area that do not drink bottled wine or wear a lot of trendy clothing--this is a spot for people that wear blue jeans and drink domestic beer. It does have a red door as well as plenty of wooden paneling and seating.

The Food
Every menu item is decent, though their signature sandwiches and hamburgers are the standouts. The Twisted Pelican is grilled turkey, topped by Swiss cheese with lettuce, tomato and onion on a house trademark pretzel bun. There are six, thick, specialty hamburgers to choose from, each piled high with extras such as chili, Cole slaw, or hot pepper cheese. Another favorite is Sally's Hillbilly--a fried bologna sandwich. If you are not sandwich inclined, try the pork chops or rib eye.

Yum!. I have been to the Red Door Tavern many times and find something different each time I go. Highly recommended. Try Sally's Hillbilly Cheeseburger, awesome!
