Columbus >Bellisari's A Catering Co.
One of worst dining experiences I have had in a long time.
The service was rude.
This was at 2:00 pm on a weekday, so the place was almost empty.
The waitress came to the table and flatly asked "What do you want to drink?".
Sure, I dont care for phoniness either, but a simple, "Hello" is appreciated.
They have a big garage type door in the rear of the restaurant, that was half open.
This proved to be an irresistible invitation to flies, several which my date and I battled throughout the meal.
The music was awful, unless you like Phil Collins, Kenny Logins, or Foreigner.
My date ordered seafood gumbo which the menu promised was great.
The utensils looked dirty. I rubbed off the greasy haze on my soup spoon with a napkin.
When the "gumbo" arrived it was white, like clam chowder and was FILLED with FAKE CRAB.
I ordered a bowl of chili which was basically a bowl of ground beef. There was no texture, nothing to break-up the sea of ground meat, like a piece of TOMATO or onion. It was like the meat you find in a Taco Bell item.
So, for crappy service, flies, dirty utensils, mediocre food and bad music, I paid $25.00 (including a tip which I wasnt going to leave, until my kind hearted dated begged me to do.)
Ill never go back again, and if you like quality food and a good atmosphere, I suggest you avoid Gibbys like the plague.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
One of Columbus' Best Bar and Grills!. I LOVE Gibbys! The food is always great and the service is always fast and friendly. It's our ritual spot to grab a sandwich before every Buckeye hockey home game. (By the end of the season, the waitress knew our names and our order) My favorite is their onion rings, which are HUGE! I wish they had more of a draft beer selection (I am NOT a C-bus Brewing co. fan) but they have a great selection of bottled beer. It's the quintessential neighborhood hangout. Gibby's is our favorite casual place to eat. Parking can be a pain in the summer, the Grandview lots fill up fast.
Must be getting old.... We went because I had a Buy One Get One Free coupon. I had a feeling I wasn't going to like it even before I walked in. It was dark, cold, raucously loud, and really smoky. Groups of lads were yelling and goofing about, barging into people and spilling their drinks. The fish and 'chips' (waffle fries) were over-cooked and unimpressive. My husband's burger was nothing to write home about either. Perhaps it's better for a younger crowd, because I didn't enjoy myself at all.
Bring on the Guinness!. Great service, I've bellied up to the bar many a night and always received prompt and very friendly service. Beats the heck out of Brazensnobs. Come here to avoid all that and enjoy a cold brewski and some wings or nachos.
