What People Are Saying About Braddock's

The Scene – The decor has a bit of an island feel, with rough wood shutters and lantern light--think seashore weather-beaten. Founding chef Michael Braddock (who has since moved out of town) worked wonders for other Columbus restaurants--including R.J. Snapper's--and earned credit for heading the first Columbus restaurant to give serious attention to gourmet grits. – – The Food – Braddock's applies a refined, Southern-based style to seafood, steaks and chops; call it low-country new cuisine. Renovations have done wonders

After the closing of Braddock's form fire, I was invited to the re-opening party and found a lighter, brighter, more welcoming version of its previous existance. The food was wonderful and the wine list much larger than previous (and spelled correctly). I have to admidt I have not been back until recently. The Chef apparently has changed and the food has too. The staples that I've loved were still there but the new additions were incredibly creative. The wine list (as I was told that evening) is priced at only 9 over retail with a selection that took a good read and a pair of glasses to get through.
Service seemed very professional although She did forget a little about the specials.
My date and I were very happy that there was seating in a quiet spot and we were left to enjoy ourselves.
- Pros: Food , Wine+++, Romantic
- Cons: temperature, lighting, kitchen noise
Columbus' Best kept secret

Everytime I walk in there, it's never crowded. It seems like I have a private dining room to ourselves. Recently I dined there and recieved amazing service from a very experienced server and when he recommended wine to try, I gladly accepted and found myself in Nirvana after each mouthful. The Wine list is extensive and very cheap for the area, something not well publicized. The Food was absolute bliss, pairing flavours that we have never seen before (i.e. special du jour - goat cheese mousse and blackened fish!). This is a restaurant that demands the praise that it deserves. If one doesn't have a good experience there, one can always go to TGI Fridays. I'll take my Braddock's.
- Pros: Cheap wine!, innovative food, Impeccable Service
- Cons: Loud Kitchen
Great wine list

I've never been disappointed by an entree at Braddocks, and I feel the prices for food are very fair. I am most impressed with the prices on the wine list... we always get a bottle of the Clou De Val (sp?) - they charge $35 and it's usually at least $28 at most wine shops... I think that's a great deal on a great bottle of wine! The service is very friendly - not necessarily very fancy:)
