Great Food, Atmosphere and Service. We have visited Columbus many times and on this visit we ventured into the Grandview Cafe, we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was upbeat and the waitstaff and bartender were friendly and attentive. The hummus appetizer boats pesto and olive tapenade while the potato skins are truly jumbo. Fish and chips were a family favorite, the burgers (Angus beef) were tasty and the special (shrimp scampi) surprisingly good. Our only regret was that we didn't get a souvenir t-shirt, however, we met the owner and he promised to contact us when they were in.

Don't expect food or service after 10. My husband and I wanted to grab a burger after an OSU b-ball game so we headed to this neighborhood favorite locale where we have had previously really good food and decent service... we were disappointed that there was no real hostess. That should have been a sign to us. We overheard a worker that was taking the $5? cover for the upper level (live band playing up there) say to some others that they could just seat themselves. So, we sat ourselves too. We sat there at least 15 minutes and no one came over to take a drink or food order. It was ridiculous. If you wanted a beer, you could get that served at the bar. But no help for us hungry people! Again, good place for a beer...bad place for food - after 9 or 10 anyways! good luck if you try it. We will stick to other places after 10.

Good food, Pretty noisy. Went to Grandview Cafe for dinner last night. The food was excellent. I had a beautiful HUGE dinner salad. I then had a veggie burger served with hummous and a touch of pesto. Very unique and very tasty. It was pretty noisy in the restaurant but we were sitting right next to the bar and it was Friday night. I had to park down the street but since the weather was nice it wasn't a problem.

great atmosphere and fantastic food. I often meet business clients at the Grandview Cafe for lunch or during Happy Hour. The food specials are always awesome and the standards on the menu including the fish and chips and salmon salad are always good. Several items have been added to the menu which include low carb meals which seem to please a lot of people. Everyone that I have met there has commented on the great atmosphere and the great service. You always feel comfortable and at home. I highly recommend the GC for business or pleasure.

Outstanding Service. It has been some time since the previous reviews were posted, and maybe the establishment changed ownership, because the service we recieved was outstanding. The food was excellent, especially the wings. Great experience!

The hip, happening place to eat and meet in Grandview.. The Scene
Lots of dark wood and brass here, obscuring the building's recent past as a Greek family restaurant. A large square bar dominates the downstairs, which is surrounded by tables and booths where lunch and dinner are served. Upstairs is more seating, with an L-shaped bar.

The Food
Typical American fare with sandwiches and fries, salads, entrees of chicken and steak and some fish. They're known for their fish and chips. Vegetarians can order a pasta dish. Daily specials include hearty staples like meatloaf.

Haven't I Seen You Somewhere Before?
Grandview Cafe is gaining quite a reputation as a pick-up spot for the over-25 set. Happy hour and later in the evening are both good times to mingle.

Entertainment
Local bands like Shucking Bubba play upstairs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

cool place. I don't think that lulu 02, antiseptic, and tepe uc know what they are talking about. I was in the grandview cafe about six months ago and had a great time. I recently read thier reviews and went back to see if it was as bad as they said. I was there on Oct 31 around 7:30. and was treated great by my waitress and the other people that were helping her. I didn't get to go upstairs because of a private party. The manager explained to me that the upstairs would be open later for music and even offered me free admission if I wanted to stay and wait.

Unbelievably Bad Service!. Had dinner at GC. Were ignored by wait staff - busy tending to obnoxious group who had pushed 4 tables together. Decided it was a happy hour scene and tried that last night. Were scolded for pushing two tables together, lectured about fact that ms. waitress couldn't make a living serving a table like ours. Confusing since we tip well... Waitress demanded we order food in spite of fact that entire group hadn't arrived, then tried to make them order before seeing menu when they arrived. After another verbal lashing we gave up. On way to cancel food order saw waitress complaining about us to manager, who seemed pleased we were leaving. Went next door to Gibby's where each of us gave the waitress the type of tips you can make a living off of on our separate checks. :)
