Don't waste your time. My wife and I live in Dublin, OH and thought it would be nice to try something different for a change. We got a babysitter to watch our two children and went to Marshall's in Grandview, which was rated as one of the best breakfast places to eat in Columbus. I'm not exactly sure why it was rated as well as it was. The wait staff was incredibly unfriendly and the food was something far from what we could have ever expected. I'm sure my wife and I could have cooked up something a whole lot better had we stayed at home. The sausages were over-done and the rest of the meal was just ordinary. Our server seemed to be having a bad day, (slamming dishes in the bus tray, not providing us with silverware for our meal---we had to ask someone else for silverware). I probably shouldn't have even tipped her 15%, but a part of me felt sorry for her miserable attitude. Although she did seem quite friendly with some of the locals that came in to dine. I would never eat here again nor recommend this place to anyone. If your looking for great breakfast food and exemplary service, First Watch, Scramblers or even Rise and Dine are far better than Marshall's. I'd put my money on that bet anytime and anyday.
i have no clue what the fuss is about. i have no idea why this place is as highly ranked as it is. we just moved to the area and are looking for our special breakfast spot, and have to keep looking... the food is fine, but nothing out of the ordinary, and lacking in variety. i could have cooked up something as good at home. this surprised me since there was a line the whole time we were there - for what i wonder??? and the staff was less than motivated or friednly. the only real plus here is the playground across the street.
Marshall's Grandview Restaurant. This is the best! It's like eating in my own kitchen. The food is great and the staff is wonderful. I have breakfast there every Sunday. There can be a line to get in but it's worth the wait.
Great happy hour.
I love going here for happy hour...$1 beer until 9. You can't beat it. Downsides....WORST service ever. I have been here too many times to count. I have been there numerous occassions with my roommate and we sat outside for 2 hours without one waitress asking us if we needed another beer. We had to keep going back into the bar ourselves. If I'm there with a male friend I have been waited on.
The only reason I go is because of the good deals.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. The parking lot is always full at the home style breakfast eatery that also serves sandwiches, burgers and pizza.
Great Breakfast and Best burgers in town!. Love this place. Atmosphere is fun and spunky. Incredible breakfast, pancakes are delicious and so is sausage gravy. Can't beat it for the price. And their hamburgers must be a best kept secret because they are the best burgers in Columbus, by far.
cute bar tenders. This place is always packed full of excited and cute people. The service is also great since the two best bartender in Grandview work here.
AWESOME DECOR AND A GREAT PLACE TO HANG OUT!. A friend brought me one night after work to get some drinks. She always talks about it, so I finally went. First thing out of my mouth was "WOW!" The decor looke dlike something you would find in Beverly Hills or somewhere nicer than Columbus. I didn't have any food, but the drinks were good and fairly priced... usually someone is buying for the bar anyway! Can't wait to eat dinner there soon!
kaf. Revisited Marshall's for a second time. Found that hours were extended to 2:30 a.m. at the bar. Excellent ambiance. Huge fish tank where fish swim through the walls. Happy hour is 4 p.m.- 9p.m. with $1 beers and $1 mixed drinks! Burgers to die for. 1/2 pounders a must. I heard that their breakfasts are huge and incredible. Met the owner, Matt. Great guy. Thanks for a great time, Matt. I will definitely return when I am in the area again. I highly recommend this great restaurant.
Western Omlette to die for. Tried Marshall's for a Sunday morning breakfast. Expecting an old diner type atmosphere, I was surprised to find that the atmosphere was sparkling and comfortable. The breakfast crowd was small and the service excellent. Above all though was the Western omlette featured on the breakfast menu. It promissed to be the chef's special creation and it fulfilled it's promiss and then some. I'm not one to talk much about food, but I've been raving about this Western ever since.
