Editorial Review for Columbus Fish Market--Grandview – by James Ellison
The Scene
Blue-shirted staffers buzz efficiently to and fro providing friendly and knowledgeable service. Nautical-inspired metal sculptures and paintings support the sea theme. This is fine, casual dining at its best.
The Food
All types of seafood from both coasts are featured. The fresh catch section of the menu changes daily and is served a variety of ways, including Shanghai-style (steamed with ginger and chives in white wine soy sauce). Crowd pleasers include Maine lobster bisque, Chesapeake crab cakes and New Orleans seafood stew. Turf lovers will enjoy the stellar steak choices, including the Filet Oscar topped with crab meat and béarnaise sauce. After-dinner selections includes malt scotches, liqueured coffees and the infamous Sharkfin Pie--several peanut butter products and other goodies stacked six inches high.

This is your typical Cameron Mitchell restaurant. High profile, trendy atmosphere, pricey food - poor service, bland meals - even the dessert lacked! I don't mind paying a lot for a dinner, but the value/quality for your money is just not there. I went at lunch time, it was not busy and my service was still terrible. My fish came out lukewarm, hushpuppies were mushy/raw-like, I could not get anyones attention to fix the problems, so I left most of my meal and hoped for a filling dessert. My dessert was not at all worth the calories, so I left it - the server didn't even notice it was untouched. I later emailed the restaurant to voice my disappointment and got NO followup email or phone call to even apologize for my experience.
Pros: Good for name-dropping, I suppose.
Cons: Cold food, bland food, poor service.

The staff was friendly, the food delicious, and I will definitely be making another trip. I recommend the appetizer shrimp. They are wrapped in bacon with barbecue sauce and rice. Yum! Add this place to your list of "must visit" places in Columbus!
Pros: Delicious food, prompt service
Cons: None!
