Would just like to say that i was extremely disappointed with this cake that i purchased for my husband's 40th birthday. First off, I wanted a BLACK cake, not red and blue, not white and black lettering, BLACK. This is not what I picked up. Second, when I called to tell them that the cake is not what I wanted the owner refused to admit any fault in the misunderstanding, saying that that was indeed what I had ordered and that there was nothing wrong done on their end. Finally, Look at the quality of this cake. When you walk into their bakery you see these gorgeous, very high quality cakes on the walls. Well, this is EXTREMELY below par for what I though i was ordering. When I took the cake back to receive my payment back in full, the owner did not apologize or even agree that this was a very poorly decorated cake. I mean they spelled FORTY wrong! and this is supposed to be a professional, high quality cake place. But according to the owner, I "only payed $32 for it". ONLY. So, if you are thinking of ordering a cake from Capital City, just know that if you are expecting the quality of those that are on the walls... well you will be very disappointed.

Capital City Cakes makes the best cakes! I love all of them especially the German Chocolate. This family owned business is amazing. I've been a customer since their beginning and have never had anything but excellent service and delicious baked goods.

I really wanted to like this place but I don't like it. I have tried 3 different slices of cake and a cupcake. All the cakes are sort of dry and flavorless. The frosting was way too sugary. I scraped most of the frosting off the cupcake. The carrot cake has too much cinnamon in it. The yellow cake and the german chocolate cake were just fine. I would expect something much more tasty from a bakery. It taste like something you can buy from kroger or giant eagle bakery.

Don't Waste Your Money. Dear Grove City People,

Don't waste your money! Horrible service with unfriendly people. Have lived in Grove City all my life. We don't need over priced ice cream and dry cakes. Thank you Capital City you lost a customer today with the half ice cream cone that cost me 10.00 for 3 cones. Not worth the wait.

A darling, rather upscale, Bexley bakery.. The Scene
Carol's Cakes has a subtle ambience: a few cushy chairs, soft lighting, African greeting cards and fancy jellies from Texas.

The Food
There are 30 different kinds of quality cake, as well as cookies, pastries and cupcakes. For special occasions, call them for a custom-made cake, in regular or sweetheart-size. They also bake wedding cakes. The carrot cake is dense, with many food groups happily represented. The lemon chiffon cake is super-sugary, like something your grandma would make, with lots of whippy icing. The very humble lemon bundt cake begs to be eaten like a big doughnut.
