From pottery to jewelry to sculpture, this German Village mainstay has a gift for everyone.. Background
Helen Winnemore opened her Columbus gift shop in 1938, moving it to its current German Village location (across from the Old Mohawk Restaurant) in the late 1960s. She ran the shop until her death in 1996. The current owner, Sarah Kellenberger, has managed the shop for nearly four years. Kellenberger goes on special buying trips in February and July, searching for original, appealing arts and handicrafts to fill her store's shelves, but she gets in new stock nearly every month.

What You'll Find
Walk in the door, and the staff will offer you a cup of coffee or tea to drink while you browse. Kellenberger changes artists frequently, but you'll find art in nearly every medium: pottery, glass, wood, metal and fiber. There are 40 drawers of jewelry, a selection of woven blankets and scads of ceramics. The upstairs rooms contain stuffed animals, piggy banks and the cutest kids' hats you've ever seen. A cunning wooden Noah's Ark is eye-catching, and Athens artist Mary Dewey's ever-popular cat sculptures snooze contentedly on shelves around the store.
