Tips for Book Loft Of German Village

One of Columbus best bookstores. Neat location, neat set-up. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The selection of books is fantastic, plus they have a nice selection of local authors. They serve in our community. If you get on the email list, you will get an email every ten minutes! But it is all good.

I love this store!. I?m a reader and this store is quite possibly what my heaven would look like. I love the fact that The Book Loft has really captured the mind of a ?bookie.? The layout could be considered intimidating, but for me it was logical in the way that it?s how my mind works, one thing to another.

Best bookstore in Ohio. There is no better way to spend a rainy afternoon than to meander down the booklined halls of this unique bookstore...You can browse for hours, completely forget what you cam in for, and go home with new books you never imagined owning. The prices are more than reasonable, the atmosphere in and around the bookloft is spectacular...You can grab a quick lunch at several area restaraunts, then lounge around the bookloft for a few hours...NEVER have I been bored. I pull up a stool, in some little nook, and read away...GREAT PLACE

Bibliophiles partial to quirky, independent bookstores should steer clear of this shop--or their credit cards will suffer the consequences.. The Scene
Leafy walkways strung with white lights lead to tables of bargain books outside the store's front door. Inside is a book-lover's dream: 32 rooms (one city block) with brimming stacks. Feel free to pet Winky, the Book Loft's resident cat who tends to sprawl lazily amongst the hardcovers, but don't wake him: Winky likes his sleep.

The Draw
Many think this is a used bookstore because its merchandise is discounted, but it actually carries only new books, including New York Times hardcover bestsellers at 30 percent off. The size of the inventory is initially overwhelming, and the expanse of rooms and staircase feels maze-like but it is well-organized. Pick up a map at the door for more efficient browsing. A different CD is playing in almost every room, with hand-lettered signs telling customers what they're listening to and where to find it.

One of America's Best Bookstores!. This bookstore is amazing and one of the only things I miss about living in Columbus. When I would meet friends someplace in college, we would often choose this as a place to meet and browse. When I needed a gift for someone special I would go here. When I had an hour to kill I would go to the Bookloft. And, best yet, when I needed any book--whether I had a particular title or was just browsing to see what to read next--this was the best place to look. The atmosphere is even better than the selection, though. With so many rooms you feel like you are truly an adventurer. Just walk through--you'll be amazed at what you find! Each room has music that fits its selection. And, when I was there it was an automatic 10% off every book.

Guilty Pleasure. I enjoy going down to German Village and visiting The Book Loft. It's one of my favorite ways to goof off. I always find something that I didn't know I needed. I'm glad they brought back the online ordering of books on their website. I can order from work and go pick my books when I don't have time to look around. Very helpful!

Rooms of Remainders. I think the real lure of Book Loft is the labyrinth of booklined rooms you traverse -- if it was in some big warehouse, it wouldn't have half the weird fairy-tale charm it does. Even for the remainder-skeptical crowd (of whom, yes, I am one), there's always some little treasure to draw you in here. You may emerge with a slightly guilty junkfood feeling that you've spent way too much time for too few treasures, but you'll come out with something, and while away quite some time in the process.
