Terrible Waitress. I agree with you. Her name is Gerri and by far the most unpleasant waitress I have had in Columbus. It was as if she just wanted you to hurry and eat, leave a tip, and depart so she could seat new suckers.
Bartender/waitress with a bad attitude. I was recently at the Mohawk with several people. We stopped during happy hour. Everything was ok except for one waitress. She was the heavy set blonde with the attitude. She made everyone in my party extremely uncomfortable and we were encouraged to "hurry up" and order as if all she cared about was getting us out of there as quickly as possible. I did not have a problem with the resturant in general, but the service could have been a lot better. I don't think some in my party will be returning any time soon. This was only the second time I have been at the resturant. The first time my companion and I sat at the bar and the big blonde was the bartender. She was not friendly at all and took forever to give us our drinks. She also seems to have a bad attitude with her co workers.
best place to hang at the bar and have dinner. For God's sake, don't choose The Olde Mohawk if you are planning on entertaining five executives from out of town! But the Mohawk is a great casual, lowkey neighborhood establishment. I recommend sitting at the beautiful bar and getting to know the great bartenders. Or go with another couple; four max at this place is your best bet. Good pub food, great people, super location.
Great place. I went there for dinner this week. The seating was prompt, our waitress was very nice and extremely attentive, and the macaroni and cheese was amazing.
My favorite comfort food. A nice neighborhood atmosphere to go along with delicious, hearty food-- the Mother Mohawk and beef stew in a breadbowl are among my favorites. Friendly staff, fun bar as well.
Lunch. I just had lunch there today. I had the Lobster Bisque and the Mohawk signature sandwitch. Both were great.
YUM!!!. I went to the Mohawk for lunch on Thursday. It was packed. I was a little overwhelmed by the noise but my friend and I settled in for a wonderful lunch. We had an outstanding appetizer, it was bread with spinach, cheese, and a sinful creamy layer of something delicious. Then she had a burger and I had the reuben. The food was good tasting and well priced. The waitress kept our drinks refilled. We also had no problem finding onstreet parking.
Good food, but bad service.... A co-worker and I went to lunch there. As busy as it was, we were seating quickly. We received drinks and our soups in an ok time period. (The french onion soup WAS delicious, I have to say.) However, my sandwich and my co-worker's salad took way too long to come out. We had to box it immediately. This is ridiculous when you consider that neither item had to be 'cooked' besides the bacon in my sandwich. Also, once the waiter took our cash to pay the bill, it took nearly 10 minutes to get our change back. Needless to say, we were 15 minutes late getting back to work. Next time I will only go there when I have time to dilly dally...
A German Village Original. The Mohawk may not be haute cuisine, but it IS good food at reasonable prices in a friendly neighbrhood atmosphere. I highly recommend the Mohawk.
A very bad experience!. I have to say my experience at this restaurant was the worst dinning experience of my life. I choose the Old Mohawk because I was entertaining five visiting executives from my company and I thought it would be a nice unique Columbus/German Village experience. The food quality and service was so poor that we all left not only extremely disappointed but also very angry. Our server was truly the most disrespectful server/individual I have ever encountered; he not only had a horrible attitude but after we left the restaurant he chassed us into the parking lot and proceeded to curse and scream at us for only leaving a 10 percent tip (which to be honest was very generous based on his lack of professionalism and poor attitude). This is one restaurant I will never give another opportunity too!
