THE BEST SOUP!!!. My husdand and I love to go out to just spend time together!! And Max & Erms is where we go!! Its a relaxing and fun place to go!! You have to try to tortia soup!!! ITS AWSOME!! I've bought alot and put it in my freezer to have on a rainy day!!

This local chain is one of your best bets for quick, greasy burgers and beer.. The Scene
Max and Erma's fern bar-style chain launched back in the '70s, but its German Village location is the original hangout, once owned and run by the real Max and Erma. This street corner saloon retains a certain amount of its funky charm, despite corporate attempts to "decorate." Quite a few regulars from the old days still haunt the place, and lively crowds gather on the weekends.

The Food
The menu has gone corporate, but the big, sloppy burgers are still scrumptious. All come with an extensive choice of toppings, and the meat is moist and rich. The "Garbage Burger," one of the restaurant's specialities, has enough toppings to outweigh the burger beneath. Cheese and bacon-stuffed potato skins are popular bar food, while rib aficionados take the barbecue seriously.

Best Burgers. Max & Erma's Garbage Burger. When I first heard about it, the gucamole didn't sound very appealing, but it adds a lot. Need lots of napkins and if you order the big one, you need time and pants with an elastic band! It is a great burger though!

Good "chain" food. Max & Erma's is one of my favorite "chain" resteraunts. I love the one in German Village but have ate at several other columbus locations. Food is always good and service is fairly consistent...These people serve the BEST tortillia soup. I get it everytime! The salads are great, and the buffalo chicken sandwich is wonderful. Give this place a try, definitely!

Great Burger from a chain. I was quite surprised that I would get a tasty burger from a chain restaurant. Ordered the reg. with pepperjack cheese and a side of homemade potato salad. I ended up being very happy in the taste and would go back.

build your own burger the way you like. the garbage burger is truly "everything but the kitchen sink". horseradish burger is unique and different, yet tasty and great with a beer!

rating the best. This is the best place to go for feel-good, fried foods that are best enjoyed with friends. All of their appetizers are excellent, and their burgers are the best in town!
