Best Bakery in Town.
Truly the best bakery in columbus. Consistent as always. Returned from Toronto after several years and was happy to find the same cream horns and Apple Strudel. Wonderful ambience and very friendly owner.
Bought a 6' Choc Rasp Torte for my daughter's 2nd birthday. Was amazing .The marzipan Peach is unique and authentic.
Simply The Best.
Mozart's is so great - the food was delicious and the atmosphere really took me back to a Viennese cafe. I am from Vienna, and this place was a great experience, excellent food, very typical viennese dishes and great atmosphere. Service was slightly slow at times but extremely friendly and actually appropriate for a relaxed evening. I will come back many times.
Amazing, simply amazing
European ambiance. I recently moved to Columbus to teach at OSU after living in Europe for many years. Mozart's has managed to capture the authentic ambiance of a European cafe. The staff is very freindly, as well as the owner who I have met on several occaisions. The pastries are outstanding. I highly recommend the apple strudel and the esterhazy torte. I was even surprised to discover the goulash is a good as my mother's!
Stale pastries, bad sandwiches.
My husband and I live in the Clintonville area and try to support local businesses. After dining at Mozarts on four separate occasions, we will not return. We have purchased the tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake, carrot cake, and several other pastry items and each was stale and old. The breakfasts were just so-so, and entrees leave a lot to be desired. Last night we ordered sandwiches and they were sloppy, greasy, and soggy. The problem with these sandwiches was that they were made from poor quality ingredients, the meat was slimey, and they were poorly constructed. Our critique is based on years of experience as a cook, and the food that we were served at Mozarts would never have left the kitchens that we have worked in.
I hope that Mozarts does start paying more attention to quality. Its location and ambience are wonderful and it is a romantic place to get a table for two either inside to listen to the piano, or outside on their small patio. I really wanted this to be a place that we could keep going to, but after being there four times I won't sink any more money into sub par food.
Mmmmm..... Mozart's is one of my favorite places to work using wireless internet. This quiet, comfortable environment is a perfect place to relax and enjoy wonderful food, pastries and coffee. Morning or evening, this place always has something delicious to offer. You can't find any other place like it in Columbus!
Very Average Desserts. We stopped in this place because it sounded promising in the citysearch reviews. The decor was very nice, intimate little tables, flowers, grand piano, beautiful pastry case. We ordered a slice of cheesecake and one of chocolate cake. Both were very ordinary tasting - the cheesecake was blah. I've eaten much better selections in much worse surroundings. I guess if you are in the neighborhood. . . . .
Day with the Girls. Perfect little bakery to stop in after dinner to grab a dessert to eat now or for take away. Staff is friendly and professional. Biscottis are HUGE. Interesting tortes and cakes, and good coffee, of course!
For scrumptious Austrian pastries and home-cooked meals, follow Arnold Schwarzenegger's lead to this cozy spot..
The Scene
A cozy space with a bit of sidewalk dining in the warmer months. Live pianists play in the dining room on occasion, making this one of the more elegant coffeehouses in town. Mozart's has the kind of desserts that should only be indulged in after a morning of bench-pressing. Arnold Schwarzenegger's sneaks in here regularly during his annual fitness expo to snack on recipes from his homeland.
The Food
The Austrian bakery has scrumptious petit fours, multiple cake flavors, tortes, rich pastries and abundantly sweet croissants. For something milder, try a cinnamon pull-apart loaf. While many customers go to Mozart's for its sweet treats and coffee, both of its locations also do a brisk business for lunch and dinner. The soups, quiches, schnitzel and sandwiches tend to be light and satisfying, counterbalancing the heavier desserts.
OHhhhh that pastry in OH. I love the napolians...not since I left Chicago have I had as good...the danish isn't bad either.
Delicious Pastries and Cakes. Mozart's is the perfect place to pick up a cake for a special occasion...their tiramisu is highly recommended. The location on high street is a great place to grab a coffee and pastry or to meet friends for a glass of wine before hitting the town. I also enjoy when they have a live pianist.
