Raves, hip-hop shows, plays, band practices--this unusual performance/rehearsal does it all..
The Scene
The first thing you notice when you walk into Art Force One is that it's a good place to sleep--for a human bat. A nightstand and bed frame are the only pieces of furniture in the room, but they're suspended from the ceiling.
Rave On
The room seats about 100, but 200 to 250 revelers can fit in for a dance. There's a stage, and a sound system can be provided. Managed by the owners of Monkey's Garden Variety store, to which it is attached, Art Force One once offered a three-day Witches Ball with films, a Fetish Ball and performance and a party for the Day of the Dead.
Shop 'Til You Bop
Monkey's is also a good place to find hemp products, martial-arts gear, clothing, hip-hop/reggae/world music CDs and other alternative items.
