Editorial Review for Adriatico's New York Style – by Jesse Will
The Scene
Tucked in on the corner of Neil and 11th, this little campus joint hides in the shadows of OSU's freshman dorm towers. Over dinner, moms and dads can peer up to room 410 and see the real reason first-year Timmy is failing Math 151. The crowd looks more like pizza connoisseurs than dude-spillover from the towers. Profs and their grad students dine over pizza and beer, while nearby Victorian Village provides a steady flow of loyal neighborhood customers.
The Food
Opt for the thick crust and enjoy the oily, well seasoned, foccacia-like dough. The sauce is rich but even, with hints of sweet roasted garlic. You may find a cheaper pizza on campus, but it won't be half as good. Adriaticos also offers the requisite independent pizza shop fare like calzones, subs and salads. So sit back, relax and reminisce about the days before Pepsi and McDonalds joined the pizza business.

If someone asks me what the best pizza in Columbus is, I quickly tell them Adriatico's (with Tommy's being a close second). Sure, it's a little pricey, but it's quite filling (especially the thick style crust). We usually order a large or a Buckeye size pepperoni and sausage pizza every week or two at work, and the end results are consistently good. My only complaint is that the sausage pieces roll right off the pepperoni a bit too easily. Hilarity ensued when a coworker tried eating a slice and the sausage rolled right into his coffee!
Pros: thick crust, huge pepperoni
Cons: sausage has a mind of its own, kind of pricey without coupons
