Tips for Flying Pizza

You won't find a better "by the slice".. This is the best "by the slice" pizza joint in columbus, hands down. Grab a whole pie if you want to make more than just yourself happy. I suggest trying both types of pizza (sicilian and neopolitan), both are fantastic but quite different from the other. I wish I had more than just 2 thumbs to give this a higher rating than "2 thumbs up".

Feverishly churning out New York slices for the campus crowd.. The Scene
Right in the middle of the High Street bustle, this tiny pizza shop boasts a line out the door all day long. Working in cramped quarters, the staff has their work down to an art, flinging dough in the air while keeping the crowd orderly and moving. Keeping order proves to be a task at times, as the place is a favorite for drunken students barely stumbling down the sidewalk.

The Food
Flying Pizza specializes in the slice, serving a thin, crisp but yeasty New York-style crust with a mild sauce that's not too sweet. When ordering by the slice, the stuff is pre-baked beforehand, and toppings are added as you order. While this method makes for a pretty good piece, if you've ever had this pizza just baked from scratch, you'll be spoiled for good. There are also hoagies on the menu: steak, meatball, and sausage.

The Best Pizza in Columbus. I have tried just about ever pizza place in central Columbus, always looking for the ultimate pizza. I have found it in Flying Pizza. The cheese has a great flavor and the crust have a wondeful aroma. So good. On top of all that, its so cheap. The best of both worlds!

Best Pizza in Columbus. I'm from NY and I'm sorry but Donatos is NOT pizza!!!! Flying Pizza uses real mozzarella, their crust tastes more like doughy bread than a sweet craker and the crust is crisp but not too hard. Also, you never have to ask them to cut the pizza like a pie - in a triangle not bite sized squares. Now that's pizza. Also, the service is always entertaining and the place is a bit of a dive but ask any native NY'er and they'll tell you those are the signs of a great pizza place.

Flying Pizza is the BEST!!!. I grew up in Dayton, OH, where I first discovered the BEST pizza in the WORLD- the Flying Pizza, located in downtown Dayton. We would walk for miles to save our bus money so that we'd have enough for a slice. Now that I'm stationed in MD, I just don't usually bother with pizza anymore- I'm spoiled with knowing what really good pizza tastes like- the best- Flying Pizza!

Food, Attitute - Slice of NY in Columbus. Truly the best Pizza in Columbus, possibly the Midwest. This however, is only for the serious pizza lover. Get to the counter, get your slice, spice, and sit down. FOLD IT, don't cut it or ask for it in squares. The closest you'll get to New York, food and attitude. If you go ask for Timmy-Eddie, he is still the best there is on the ovens.
