THE pre-game place in Columbus.
This is THE Pre-Game Place before Ohio State Football Games. Also the place to be on the Friday Night BEFORE the Game.

It's crowded & lively before the game yet you can actually take a kid or your grandmother in there since they won't see anything inappropriate whatsoever. The Food in the Patio is great. The service is great considering the crowd. There is also an Ohio State Gift Shop next door (College Traditions.) and another just a block down the street. (Conrad's)
Opened in 1959, It has the kind of atmosphere that bigger, more modern sports bars simply cannot copy despite their best efforts.
On a weeknight when it's less crowded, it retains the friendly neighborhood atmosphere.

The definitive pre and post-game hangout bar for OSU Buckeye fans..
It's Always Football Season
The walls are covered with OSU sports memorabilia, but football dominates. Despite the throngs of people who come here, the bar has managed to retain a warm neighborhood feel. Everybody might not know your name, but they know what team you're rooting for.
Wait Out the Traffic
One of the best things about the Varsity Club is its proximity to OSU sporting venues. It's across Lane Avenue from St. John's, up the street from The Schott and a quick walk from the stadium. It's definitely more fun to sit in a bar full of people than a jam-packed parking lot.
Block Party
During football season, home games also draw plenty of revelers to a street party nearby, so the whole area can take on an air of unabashed scarlet-and-gray fanaticism. Should you venture to that neighborhood on the day of a home game to mingle with the thousands of manic students and alumni, you'll fully appreciate the fact that OSU is one of the largest universities in the world.
Patron Saint
This place proves that Columbus is brimming with alumni who still remove their caps at the mere mention of Woody Hayes.
