WOW We drove an hour to bring our kayaks to this place and wanted to have a good day on the water. When we arrived there we asked for them to pick us up at the end of the trip BUT the old man we talked to said they were going to be too busy to do it. They advertise that they will haul your canoe or kayak for you for $10.00 each but they LIE. He said he couldn't do it for that and said he would do it for $25.00. What kind of crooks are these people? DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Family Friendly Fun!. We had such a nice, relaxing ride down the Scioto. The owners were kind and the equipment was in good condition. There were plenty of places to pull over and stretch your legs. We saw many fish, turtles, and even some otters.

Polluted Scioto River. If you want to see hundreds of old tires, trash, including cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags, polluted water, broken glass and floating debris, then this is the place for you! Don't forget your hip waders so when you step in the water, your legs don't turn red and itchy from the pollution. You will also love it if you enjoy the smell of sewage at 89 degrees on a hot August day. I would be embarrassed to take anyone down this 4 mile stretch when there are a number of other local canoe liveries that offer a beautiful scenic and clean ride all with in a hour or two drive from Columbus. All of this for just $30. Enjoy your trip and take plenty of pictures to send to the ODNR or your local Congress person. Very appalling and would not recommend it to anyone! The best part was getting off the river, where are our tax dollars going Anyway.

The family-owned and operated Scioto Canoe Livery caters to the individual with canoe trips of varying lengths. Short trips take about three hours, and overnight trips are available for the more adventurous. Kayaks also are available for any of the excursions. Call in advance, and they'll work with your trip idea or special requests.

The Amenities
Located south of the city, Scioto Canoe Livery has its own campgrounds that are equipped with picnic tables, grills and horseshoe pits. Several islands along trip routes are suitable for more primitive camping. Since it's along the flood plain, the Scioto River offers excellent fishing. In fact, the only water-level problem it has is during the spring, when there's too much of the wet stuff.
