Great, Friendly spott. Despite the other reviews, I found this to be a great spot for a good meal. The fish and chips arguably the best in the city. It has the Cheers(tv show) atmosphere to it. The staff was very polite. I would reccomend this place to anyone I meet. I went to the high street location.
This was a Major Mistake. I was sorely disappointed! I had the Fish and Chips, Long Johns does a better job. The place was empty and I see why. People raved about it so I tried it and I will tell everyone I know NOT to go there. The waitstaff was rude and DIRTY, Hard Road location, and the service was weak. People who compare this to English Pubs have never been to a real Pub. I can't believe how bad this place was!!
GREAT FOOD. This place has the best fish and chips. The appetizers are awesome love the fried pickles. Dont know how anyone could not like this place. Great Prices!!!!
awful. My girlfriend and I stopped by the Westerville location. The food was aweful. Her medium steak was crispy and I had to cut the black burnt stuff of my salmon to make it edible. We both finished our drinks halfway through dinner (we ate at the bar), but were never offered any seconds. The bartenders it seems was too busy fussing over the restaurant manager who was sitting next too us having a few too many in her own establishment. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences of my 40 year life!!!
Rustic Burger with steak fries. House salad with house dressing. If I die and go to heaven, I hope there is a Bag of Nails Resturant there!!! Was introduced to this establishment by a friend and it is one of my all time favorite places to eat.
Fantastic local bar/restaurant.
this is a fantastic little restaurant in the heart of Worthington.
the waitstaff is very knowledgeable, and the food is excellent! if you have a chance, sit at the bar and let yourself be entertained by the banter of one of the best barkeeps in the Columbus area.
i enjoy the steaks, the burgers, and the fish and chips. the food is great, and there is plenty there to eat.
for dessert, dont forget the fried snickers!
I didn't understand the attraction . . .. This was an hour and ahlf wait in tight quarters to have average bar food. . . the good news is there was no smoking so it didn't stink . . .the menu is primarily "what would you like deep fried" . . . .and most food tastes good deep fried . . . I didn't see anything 'special' about the meal of the place . . .I'd eat there for a fast off peek time meal for something average . .but i'd never wait for the experience again!!!!! . .reservations aren't accepted
A rarity on this side of the pond: excellent fish and chips, true Scotch whisky and a great pub atmosphere..
The Scene
Named after the London pub where Paul McCartney met first wife Linda Eastman, each Old Bag is decorated with beer-can collections, bric-a-brac and other pub paraphernalia. The Worthington location is a bit darker and hole-in-the-wall cozy, while the Grandview space is larger and good for groups and kids. People come for the food as much as the great selection of imported beers and ales; expect to wait a while for a table on Friday or Saturday nights. The vibe is generally wholesome and neighborhood friendly.
The Food
Classic American bar food and many seafood selections make for an interesting menu. Favorites include crispy, bite-sized potato pancakes, hot piled-high corned beef sandwiches, Coho salmon and bread pudding. The battered fish and chips are as good as any you'd get in England. Portion sizes are often large enough to feed two.
Great Place to Meet Friends. The fish and chips are the best I've had anyplace. I also like the Canjun Seafood Gumbo and often get that meal since it goes so well with the large beer selection. Speaking of the beer selection. I've eaten here quite a number of times and still have not gone through every beer that they carry.
Best Fish and Chips. Worthington Location: Absolute best Fish and Chips in the city, hands down. Great food selection (try the blue cheese potato skins), very good beer selection. No alcohol outside but it's just great to sit on the sidewalk of quaint Worthington and watch the world go by. Plastic chairs / tables aren't the most luxurious but the food makes up for it. Very friendly staff and patrons. Afterward, zip across the street for coffee at Scottie MacBean and ice cream at Graeter's.
