If you don't go here, you won't be missing anything. This is why some people say they don't like grits. They were instant and horrible. It was like eating tasteless sand. If you go here, please do not order the shrimp and grits because you would leave having been given completely the wrong idea about what otherwise should be a great experience. They were terrible. I guess I should've known better but fell for it out of lust for what I hoped would be good food. As far as it being kid-friendly, it was the night we went which was during the middle of the week. I have no need to go back. I can make it better at home for much less money, probably faster, and not walk away feeling I was somehow tricked into having a less than mediocre experience.
fabulous tasting food, great date night and excellent service..
We had a fabulous time! Great atmosphere, wonderfully tasting food, great service!! Only thing we had a problem with , this wouldn't be a kid friendly place. We have a 15 month old and a 5 month old, and the tables are too close for a high chair or a place for a car seat for an infant. maybe a place for an older child, but that would have to be in their few booths they have. Atmosphere was nice, loud enough to bring a child, but we definetly would not want to pay that kind of money for a nice dinner and have our child act up there.
Thank heavens tonight we were alone, and had a beautiful time!!! We will be back,, make reservations for a friday or saturday for sure, small bar to wait in.
Interesting Food, Good Prices. Here you'll find an interesting selection of uniquely paired food items - not your ordinary fare - prepared well and with nice presentation. Prices are in line with other restaurants of this caliber. I've tried it all, but my favorite is the shrimp and grits. The duck is expertly cooked as well. They also offer seasonal menu items, which is a nice touch and shows some creativity. My only complaint is that their wine selection is a bit pedestrian - nothing you can't find at the local chain grocery store, and they're selling $8 glasses of wine that came from a bottle worth $12. I understand the concept of markup, but come on! The atmosphere is contemporary and upscale, but not super trendy or pretentious. The service is not exceptional, but it's fine. Overall, very good food at reasonable prices.
Something for everyone. We've eaten here many times and always enjoy ourselves. The calamari appetizer is the best in the city in our opinion. The warm goat cheese salad is also outstanding. Cameron's Walleye is great comfort food. Service has always been top notch. The wine, as in so many Mitchell restaurants ,is overpriced. The personalized service always brings us back. For dessert, the Meyer Lemon Gratin is incredible. I've been here with guests of very differing palates and all have been very pleased with their meals.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Kid-friendly restaurant serves American cuisine including prosciutto wrapped roasted chicken at affordable prices.
Mediocrity at it's finest!.
Camerons wasnt horrible, it just wasnt spectacular.
Our server was polite but not attentive to our dining needs. I have received better service at places that charge a fraction of what Cameron's does.
The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't overly good. I ordered steak and what I got was dry and not very impressive.
Atmosphere was another place where Cameron's excelled at being mediocre. Maybe it's just me but when I pay a hundred dollars for a meal I would expect not to hear Madonna, Greenday, or Leni Kravitz.
I had a glass of Coppola Pinot Noir. Decent wine but at 9.95 a glass it was overpriced. I found the same wine for 15.99 a bottle online. This is really what describes my whole experience at Cameron's, paying high prices for food and service that was comparable to what you would receive at a place like Applebee's.
OUTSTANDING! A Hidden Gem!. From the outside, Cameron's had never wowed us, but our dining experience there was oustanding! Great food - the best calamari appetizer in town, and we've tried them all - and delicious, beautifully presented entrees. Service was excellent, and decor and ambiance were comfortable and tasteful. Not too loud either. What a find! We will definitely go there again!
