With its 650 gently rolling acres of forests, this park is an outdoorsman's delight and doggie's heaven.. In Short
Blendon Woods' 115-acre Walden Waterfowl Refuge provides a sanctuary for hundreds of birds and includes the 11-acre Thoreau Lake. There's plenty of hiking that can be done on more than 4.5 miles of trails; animals are permitted on a designated pet trail. In winter, the hiking trails can be used for cross-country skiing. In warmer weather, a Frisbee golf course is open daily. It's a perfect picnic spot, with horseshoe courts, picnic tables and playground equipment.
